Airline notifying 800 people in Ebola scare: Amber Vinson's symptoms may have come earlier

A nurse infected with Ebola may have had symptoms sooner than originally believed, authorities say, and an airline is notifying up to 800 passengers linked to flights she took between Dallas and Cleveland.

In addition to Amber Vinson's round trip, Frontier Airlines is also reaching out to others who were in five subsequent flights that used the same plane.

Vinson was hospitalized Tuesday, a day after she returned from Cleveland to Dallas aboard a Frontier Airlines flight.

The nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas was part of a team that treated Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. He died last week.

Frontier says passengers linked to flights she took include those aboard her Dallas-to-Cleveland flight on October 10, a return flight four days later and five later flights that used the same plane....

TOTALLY AGREE. Is she RN or CNA? Regardless, SHE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER! Most of us here on FR know better! Geeze.

What I find kind of amazing is that for the first two days that they cared for Duncan they wore no PPE. On the third day, everyone was in a level-4 hazmat suit. One would think that all of the involved parties would have been aware of the seriousness of the situation once the level-4 suits had been broken out.

That apple didn’t fall far from the tree. If my daughter had called and told me that she had worked with a dead Ebola patient and was still planning to fly home for the weekend, I would have told her she must be crazy to even think of it. How could she endanger her family like that? What parent wouldn’t have better sense?

"First assure us Ebola won’t come here....when it does come here, assure us it won’t be a problem, assure us they understand this virus, etc."

Yep - that's basically what the CNO told me the other day, before it turned up on a Cleveland flight. So, when I hand in my resignation, I'm sure I'll be labeled "paranoid", and laughed at as I walk out the door. But I have a feeling - I'll be the one laughing.

In the past 6 years, anyone remotely competent in any level of govt has been either dismissed, forced out, shut up or replaced with drooling morons and sycophants that will do things unquestioningly. Things like treating ebola patients unprotected at the command of their superiors.

The proof of that is right in front of us. Talk to any recently separated military and ask if the above is not 100% correct. They will tell you that it is.

I’m not sure, are you saying you’re not afraid of Ebola or govt?

My first thought when this started was, “Just in time for flu season,” being that flu symptoms are similar to early Ebola symptoms.

So I fear what govt can do with this. If anyone is hoping for a common-sense approach, that’s not going to happen. Otherwise, flights would have been stopped immediately.

No, they’re getting the response they’ve been hoping for...panic.

The scenario: With flu season upon us, and with a panicked public watching the dog and pony show of incompetence and not knowing what to believe anymore, “they” can and will take advantage.

Remember one of their favorite mottoes to live by: Never let a good crisis go to waste.

We’re in a crisis here and it’s time for them to work their voodoo.

If enough panicked Americans start demanding action, we’ll get curfews or total lock-down.

This could turn into a reason to shut down an election is what I’m saying. Early voting is looking good.

I dont see any common sense coming from people involved in this mess, from the WH, CDC or the so called professional staff who cared for Duncan.

Will you resign? That might be what it takes and I wouldn’t blame you at all.

“The hospital treated Americans Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, and is also caring for an unnamed person with Ebola who went there on September 9.”

From that article... an unnamed Ebola patient that has been there since Sept 9th? What did I miss?

This is what happens when one surrenders the mind to others.

We are witnessing 40 years of progressive hubris at work here.

If they can convince nurses, who are supposedly trained to work around infectious diseases, that they are “safe...?”

What in heavens name can they convince the rest of the population of?

“Obama can’t afford to lose the senate.”

Hillary can’t afford for the dems to keep the senate.

Hillary if a firm believer in destroying the entire system, blaming everyone on both sides that is part of the old system for the collapse, then rebuilding a Utopian dream world to her specifications.

The Clintons let everyone know this was their intention as far back as 1998 with their talk of “The Third Way”, nobody paid attention then and they refuse to accept it now.

Great post - more people need to see it, including the few remaining patriots holding political office.

She may have not talked directly with the CDC according to her uncle

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=26266763

“New information emerged today about Vinson’s actions before she boarded a commercial plane from Cleveland to Dallas the day before she was diagnosed with Ebola.

Vinson did not directly call federal health officials for permission to board a passenger flight Monday, instead talking to a team of Texas health officials who relayed her symptoms to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, her uncle told ABC News.”

Isn’t it amazing just how freakin’ selfish she appears.

And let's not forget Thomas Duncan. He had helped a pregnant ebola victim to a clinic where she was turned away. Then he came to Dallas, bringing virus to another continent.

And went to a hospital and as far as we know he did not tell the staff this critical information. And now his family has the audacity to sue the hospital.
