The son of Vice President Joe Biden says he is “embarrassed” after being discharged from the Navy Reserve earlier this year --- reportedly after testing positive for cocaine.

The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported Thursday that Hunter Biden’s short-lived military career ended because he failed a drug test after reporting to his unit in 2013. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Navy discharged him in February of this year.

Perhaps they are planning a new campaign to legalize cocaine, so that it does not wreck careers any longer and can be a new tax revenue source. This way they have a built-in poster child, who can then petition to get his USN job back.

If anyone thinks they are going to see this on ABCCBSNBCPBSCNNMSLSD you are out of your mind. America no longer has a legitimate PRESS. The only place to get real news in America is FR, Drudge and a handful of other internet sites, AND talk radio.

But here’s the irony...since the Navy characterized his service as “honorable,” Hunter Biden may still be eligible for various veterans benefits. My experience was only on the active-duty side (20+ years), so I’m not sure how much service is required for reservists to qualify for such bennies as the GI Bill. It doesn’t look like “Snort” Biden was in long enough for a VA mortgage, but there are provisions that allow that benefit if the reservist was discharged under “certain medical conditions.”

Rest assured, “Plugs” Biden tidied up this steaming pile to the greatest degree possible. Normally, flunking a drug test is enough for action under the UCMJ, but Biden’s spawn was allowed to quietly resign.

What’s even more galling is that Hunter Biden was given a direct commission. There are plenty of qualified reservists with actual media credentials/experience who are far more deserving of a commission—and would have served the nation honorably for years to come. But the Navy tried to score some points with Old Joe, and wound up with egg on its face—or more correctly, dust on its nose.

This much is certain: the commander and the petty officers who ran the Golden Flow program in Biden’s unit won’t be promoted anytime soon. If it were up to me, I’d put them all in for a medal. I can almost guarantee there was pressure to ignore the results, or test again when the coke was out of Biden’s system, but they stuck to their guns.

I misread it as ‘repeatedly’ instead of reportedly. Am surprised it wasn’t fixed like a traffic ticket.

Can we discharge the entire Democrap party from Congress as well being that they do the same stuff on a regular basis?

Biden's son discharged from Navy after reportedly testing positive for cocaine

So why can't we discharge his Dad's boss for the same offense?

I wouldn’t doubt the VP may have tried out some of the “nose-candy” as well.

If it’s like the Army’s urinalysis program, an administrative separation board weighs the evidence & makes recommendation to the user’s commander who then moves to either separate or rehabilitate (the latter for junior enlisted caught the first time).

Commanders normally separate using general discharge which can either be under honorable conditions or less than honorable. Undue command and/or political influence in Biden’s case would be been too obvious. He was discharged.

In any case, he’s an idiot like his old man. Stay clean 72 hours out from weekend drill, & you’ll p*** clean. For cocaine, that is. THC remains in the system up to 30 days.

Like Father like son.

Biden’s wide eyed and off the wall verbal bs indicate a need for a drug test on him.

I had the same thought. They could’ve covered this up, like everything else they cover up. Biden wanted his baby outta there.

Poor baby. He's clearly a victim and needs a few weeks or months at a golf resort rehab center where he can be rehabilitated for a future political career like RFK Jr.

Uh, rfk jr has a political career? I thought he was just a simple man fighting for the survival of mankind. (Less his suicidal ex-wife of course. Hemp or poly rope?)

It all depends on how long his time in service was. If there were less than 180 days between the date he was commissioned and the date of discharge, they can just call it quits and he leaves with “Uncharacterized” service. He wouldn’t be eligible for any veterans benefits, wouldn’t even officially classify as a veteran.
