90 Percent of Checkout Food Options Unhealthy; 60 Percent of Drink Options Sugar-Sweetened
A study of checkout aisles at a wide variety of supermarket and non-food retailers found that 90 percent of food options for sale were for candy, energy bars, chips, cookies, and other junk foods, and 60 percent of the beverage options were for soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages.
Researchers at the nonprofit Center for Science in the Public characterized only eight percent of food items as "healthier," and just two percent of foods as actually "healthy," such as nuts and fruit. Their assessment of drinks for sale at standard checkout aisles revealed that 19 percent were water, 15 percent were diet soft drinks, 5 percent were ground coffee and tea bags, less than one percent were juice, and none was milk.

Why do you think they stick candy and soda’s at the register, for you to pay double for?
I like sweets, but am not willing to pay double for a single candy bar. When I can buy a box or bag of them. Then there is the little thing called will power to resist what you know you should NOT eat for your health’s sake.
Stupid culture rot on tv MY 5 WIVES this fall on cable. Polygamy will be the next lawsuits these perverts bring. http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/my-five-wives/videos/meet-the-williams-family.htm
I see commercial for Direct TV that with the low price bundle you can pick your channels, like NOT. They have a low cost package that has jack in it but crap shows. With so much technology you should be able to select your channels and programs instead of buying a big package you don’t watch but 3-4 shows on. Except sports and cars in this house.
I was smart, my Mom did not drive, so I traded watching my boys to my Dad in place of him taking her Saturday shopping, while he sat in the either hot or cold car. LOL, I had to do mine, so it was a win-win for Mom and I.
And I could buy the cheapo snacks, that I would NOT eat. Kids could care less, it was a chip or cookie. When they complained they wanted Heinz Ketchup, I bought 1 bottle, refilled it out of Save A Lot’s brand. No difference in taste.

Quarter million stolen from hard working Americans so that some Marxists can party and turn in homework that food makes people fat.
CSPI should open their own stores. People will flock there by the dozens to pay exorbitant prices for things they don’t want.
Liberals are always screaming to get the government out of their bedroom, but I guess they don’t mind them in their kitchens.
Ah so! Thanks for that. Can I get paid to do a study of how many pretty young girls I can service in a week at a fancy resort in Hawaii ? These govt studies sound just great!
In honor of these people I am having Ramen noodles for breakfast.
“The writers team received a $250, 000 grant for phase 1 of the study.
The study is actually a facilitation of Grand Theft Treasury
The Democrat party is a criminal enterprise.
If it were 1793, the writer would be riding the tumbrels”
I agree with you that it is theft of $250,000, and I certainly agree that the Dems are a criminal enterprise, but just for the record, and to clarify for those who may not be aware, the French Revolution was a monstrous spasm of leftist violence run wild. Imagine if the biggest, most disgusting leftists in the world, like Michael Moore or Noam Chomskey, suddenly were given absolute power of life and death over everyone, with guillotine set up in all the major cities to facilitate their whim. The French Revolution was a leftist bloodbath that grew so out of control that it eventually claimed even the ones directing it... but for the most part the tumbrels were filled with republicans, the wealthy, and hapless folk who got caught up in the fever of the times.
I highly recommend the book Paris in The Terror, by Stanley Loomis.
