They had no protective gear protocols for the medical staff in Dallas.

There were no CDC protocols during Duncan's care and there still are no protocols to this day!

Do a Page Save as, because as soon as the Ebola Czar learns of this CDC release it will be pulled.

The Dallas CDC team consists of:

Three senior scientists with expertise in public health investigations and infection control
A communications officer
Five Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officers – CDC’s disease detectives
A public health advisor

These CDC experts will assist state and local health departments find, assess, and assist everyone who came into contact with the Ebola patient between the time he became symptomatic (before having symptoms, people with Ebola cannot spread the infection) and the time he was placed in an isolation ward. The CDC experts will help ensure that proper infection control procedures are followed, and monitor healthcare workers treating or attending to the patient. Long experience shows that these tried-and-true core public health interventions stop the spread of Ebola.

WTF? They haven't learned anything in the LAST TWO WEEKS?

A good friend works in the Infection Control section of a local hospital. He’s got a masters in Public Health and is about halfway thru a PhD program. Earlier this week his group got an email with a poster containing recommendations for health care workers for PPE.

He was utterly appalled. The guidelines for dogging the PPE told workers to remove gloves first, then presumably remove the rest of their PPE, now smeared with infected fluids, with bare hands!

He had a battle royal with the rest of the hospital, who found it difficult to believe the CDC could be wrong.

Anywho, after talking to him I wanted to check out the idiocy for myself, so went to the page.

It’s been taken down, apparently just a few days after being posted! The clusterbleep continues!

Update: Just went to the Google Wayback Machine and found the original, for those who want to view undisguised idiocy. If the nurses in TX were following this protocol, no wonder they got infected! I am utterly appalled!

It is getting obvious that they don’t want the heath care workers properly protected. If they catch it, the public will hear that they didn’t follow protocols and it’s their fault.

Bottom line is, even if you are in a proper suit, you need to be decontaminated before you come out of that suit.

It’s breathtaking- truly.

And this is why bureaucracies are inept and ripe with corruption..there is no teamwork or accountability.

MSDS is not the CDC.

The recommendations on that page are : Copyright © Public Health Agency of Canada, 2010 Canada

So? Ebola is the same in Canada as they are in the US.

There were no CDC protocols during Duncan's care and there still are no protocols to this day!

Not true. I put up a thread on Tuesday discussing the one they had in place at that time. My understanding is that they took it down Friday pursuant to an upgrade.

There were protocols that were wrong.

They even pulled them on Ocy 16,2014 and replaced them with no recommendations for PPE.
