Chief Justice John Roberts seems to be going wobbly again.
Conservatives, still smarting from what they view as an ideological betrayal by Roberts two years ago in the Supreme Court’s 5-4 Obamacare decision, have looked on suspiciously in recent weeks as the chief justice twice appeared to side with the court’s liberals and Justice Anthony Kennedy against the court’s conservatives.
When the high court issued orders last week blocking Wisconsin’s voter ID law and stopping enforcement of key parts of Texas’s new restrictions on abortion clinics, Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito publicly dissented. Roberts was notably silent.
Taken together, Roberts’s actions seem to be contributing to a kind of buyer’s remorse that could result in even more pressure for ideologically pure nominees.
During his confirmation hearings, Roberts presented himself a strict interpreter of the Constitution and compared a judge’s role to that of an umpire calling balls and strikes. President George W. Bush was so confident in Roberts’s conservative bona fides that he appointed him directly to the post of chief justice.
“I think there are a lot of conservatives who feel like, instead of calling the balls and strikes, he’s kind of ducking when possible,” said Carrie Severino of the conservative Judicial Crisis Network. “There certainly seems like a more consistent pattern on the part of Scalia, Thomas and Alito of being really conservative to the core.”

We suspect two possible issues....
He’s well beyond “soft”. He went “soft” when he betrayed the American people with ObamaCare.
I remember talk back when he changed his opinion on Obamacare about his adoption of 2 children from overseas being questionable. I thought he was blackmailed over that.
That’s my thinking, too.
He is being blackmailed because of the illegal adoption by he and his wife of two Irish children in violation of International Law.

I lost all hope and respect for him over the 2 Swearing in the President.
I was a measly 17yo being sworn into the Navy and had to do it twice because the 1st was done on a Sun @ a Rams/49ers football game and we had to have it done again on Mon and that was just to go in the Navy......I am sure (if it ever crossed ones mind) that I would NOT have been allowed to have it done in private.....
I just checked and Nov 10 1956 was on a Saturday - that is my ‘official’ date of entry.....
Must have been sworn in on Sat and had a ‘mock swearing in at halftime of the game’... My Recruit Co was sponsored by the LA RAMS and being sworn in at half time on Veterans Day was symbolic(?)....

I agree completely. And I’ll name the issues on this forum:
I think he’s gay or bi; and
I think there was an issue with his and his (beard) wife’s adoption of their children.
