There is the biggest problem. Right now these "lords" haven't figured out how to tax these "Robin Hoods" but when they do... Look out!
Uber kicks total butt against taxis, at least in New York City.
First I’ve EVER heard of these businesses
The net is the biggest ‘backyard fence’ in history and the neighbors who share tomatoes, gossip, rides to the grocery store or whatnot are going to be very pissed off if the gubmint sticks its snout into their personal business.

The owner of the largest cab company in Atlanta has been lobbying to ban Uber and Lyft. He claims being a cab driver is a good middle class job and his cabbies make $60K/year.
If cabbies make such good money, why is it every time I get in a cab in any U.S. city it’s driver is someone from the third world who has been in the country less than 90 days and learned to drive after that? And they never know where they are going, they expect you to tell them every turn (or they blindly plug the address in to a GPS). And in a time of smartphones credit card scanners, why can’t most taxis take plastic? And can’t make change for a $20 bill? I have to carry $70 or $80 for cab fare each way, and I need to ensure I have a $10, $5, and five $1s in my wallet.
The one exception seems to be NYC, where taxis actually work, only due to the city recognizing how corrupt they used to be and mandating certain things (GPS, credit card terminals, etc.).
There is a reason people use Uber and Lyft: because taxis generally suck. I would rather ride a city bus than take a taxi.
I used Uber cars in Boston and they were wonderful. Average was about $15 to go across town. Once I had to get somewhere at rush hour and had to upgrade and it cost me more. Nice drivers, clean, prompt. Loved it.
Uber is highly connected to the leftist RAT Emanual family (Ari, Rahm, Ezekiel). They have money invested in UBER. A good reason for no conservative to use it.
The PUC here in Pittsburgh bashed Uber hard. Guess Uber didn’t pay the cronies enough.

We have used airbnb all over the US and Europe. As you might expect, the accomodations vary from great to adequate. We saved a lot of money and met interesting local people. I could bore you with lots of interesting stories.
Just remember your are a paying guest in somebody’s home and in some cases you have to work with them regarding scheduling, and things going on in their lives too.
Well worth it.
Mob bosses and their installed politicians HATE independent business!
A caution to potential drivers and hosts are in order as well. The Uber and Airbnb business model is actually akin to that of a casino — “the law of large numbers”, and you as the driver are like one of the gamblers.
They have no stake whatsoever in making sure that any individual driver or host makes a lot of money, makes a good living at it, or even covers his own expenses. They make it up on volume. And, like a casino, Uber (especially) makes a lot of noise about the three or four “winners” who have done very well, while offering very little, in fact, refusing to offer, objective numbers on how the “average” driver can expect to do.
The matter of many Uber drivers pocketing less than minimum wage is for another post.

If people want the blessings of liberty they ought to grow up and account for the consequences of what they do.
My brother and his wife used AirBnB from June to September as they traveled from Norway to Spain and back up north to Iceland and then back home to Minnesota. They posted from every place to family on FB and showed where they stayed and it all looked very nice. Several in the extended family traveled to meet them in England for the Monty Python reunion.
I just used Uber for thr first time and loved it.
