As the quarantine period ends for people exposed to the first person in the U.S. to be diagnosed with Ebola, the virus for the first time ranks among the top 10 issues Americans consider to be the most important ones facing the country. However, Ebola still ranks behind five other issues, including the economy (17%), dissatisfaction with government (16%) and unemployment (10%), and ties several others.
These results come from an Oct. 12-15 Gallup poll, conducted while dozens of people in the U.S. were still being quarantined after coming in contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, who died earlier this month from the virus. Two of the nurses who cared for Duncan have now been diagnosed with the virus. Most others who had contact with Duncan were quarantined for three weeks, which ended Monday.
Separate Gallup polling about Ebola specifically finds more than one in five Americans saying they worry about getting the Ebola virus....

They could have a game show with the contestants guessing who would be pissed off more and why? It would go on for years.
How about “Having a foreign born radical Muslim and enemy of the United States as President - 99.9999999999%”
1 is Economy
3 is Unemployment => Economy
5 is immigration => Unemployment => Economy
There are actually as many people that believe Ebola is as bad of a problem as the budget deficit.
That’s nuts.
I disagree, and would bet the percentage of most would agree.
Can we see a hand count?
The NFL’s overtime rules should be somewhere in there.
What exactly do you disagree with?
That the economy is the top problem? Or that unemployment and immigration are economy related? Or something else?
By the way there’s a poll out today that women now favor republicans by 44-42. And their top issues were #1 Economy, followed by healthcare, ISIS and EBOLA if I remember correctly.
Economy is still big. The unemployment numbers are lies. Real wages are still hurting.
Apparently Algore wasn’t polled. Didn’t even make the list
Your own sequence of numbered priorities Danny.
Just a wild guess, but based on never ending escalating chain migration, plus tens of millions entering illegally, some of which is is being escorting in by your leaders, I would guess this would be #1 since it's totally gang raped the wages and the jobs. Would you not secure your homeland first? Should this have been done 40 years ago?
I dunno....What do you think Danny?
I think you didn't read the article.
The priorities are from the article. They aren't mine.
I don't think immigration is number 1, because I don't think people blame all of the unemployment on immigration. I certainly don't. I blame it on having lowered the tariffs and off shored too much of our manufacturing.
Does immigration need to be fixed? Absolutely and urgently. It does increase unemployment. It increases crime. It moves us away from being a nation of laws to a nation where the president does whatever he feels. It a security risk with terrorists crossing the border. Diseases are crossing the border. It's increasing the drug trade. And it's negatively impacting our culture.
I thought climate change was the number one problem.

Your first comment to me was: “What exactly do you disagree with? That the economy is the top problem?
You seem to be making inconsistent statements Danny.
And yes, I very much disagree. Would you not secure your homeland and it’s borders/immigration, which is affecting all the economy, first?
The Ebola's have been on the top of my list for more than six years.
Nope not inconsistent.
I do agree that the economy is the top priority. And while immigration is part of that, it’s not the number one issue.
We need to raise the import tariff and brings jobs back. That probably means dropping out of the WTO, but since they just told us we can’t label our food with country of origin, we need to anyway.
Closing the border should be easy, and can be accomplished faster than restructuring trade agreements. But it’s just not number 1 in importance. It is high.
OK Danny...Cheers...

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
