Seahawks don't think Russell Wilson is black enough? (Harvin trade)
Yardbarker via MSN ^ | 10/22/14 | Larry Brown

As the reasons behind the Seahawks’ decision to trade Percy Harvin are continually analyzed, more information about the dynamics of the team’s locker room are being reported. In the latest report, it is suggested that there was a divide in the locker room among Seahawks supporting Russell Wilson and players who supported Harvin. The report says that as the chasm grew, the Seahawks decided they had to trade Harvin before things became more fractured.

Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, who explores the trade and locker room dynamic in Seattle, gives several reasons why some players have issues with Wilson, and he even suggests that some players believe the quarterback is not black enough.

Freeman says the Seahawks traded Harvin because of “increasing animosity” between the former Vikings wide receiver and their Super Bowl-winning quarterback. This should not come as a surprise; Lance Zierlein of Sports Talk 790 in Houston reported last week that Harvin nearly fought Wilson this season. He also says some players feel Wilson is too close to the front office, which is probably another way of saying that Wilson is a favorite of the organization. Freeman also reports that some teammates are irked by Wilson not always taking blame for mistakes he makes.

Should I speculate as to what exactly it means to be “black enough”, I will be called a racist.

Looks like the Jets 2 QB's are "black enough", so Harvin should feel at home in NJ...

Harvin is the problem. Which is why he’s on his 3rd team in 4 seasons.

Doesn’t Payton Manning suffer from this syndrome as well?

Our black bretheren need to be consistent here.

If Wilson isn’t black enough that a percentage reject him, far more should reject Obama.........he isn’t half as black as Wilson -

except when he’s speaking in the ‘hood and wants to seem black...........

Nonsense like this might well be the reason the defending Super Bowl champs are 3-3 so far this year.

If Jesse Jackson doesn’t get anxious and afraid when he sees you approaching him on a street at night, then you ain’t black enough.

One of the local radio guys doesn’t believe it. Maybe in personal stuff, but not football. (Maybe Wilson doesn’t like the rap parties or something?) He also said - if it was a white player - would someone ever say “is he white enough?”

The radio guy also didn’t think Wilson doesn’t think he doesn’t make mistakes. If you listen to his post-game interviews he takes his fair share of blame.

He DID think some of the players are probably not as enamored of him as the public is.

They are also making a big deal out of “Well, what ELSE is being kept secret in the locker room?”

What a joke. Before a game on the interviews you have people like Richard Sherman saying things like “Well, their backup quarterback is really good, and that team has great receivers. They are all competitors and it will be a battle.” I’m pretty sure he isn’t talking like that in the locker room when he is pumping his teammates up for the game.

Russell Wilson might be too Christian for the cry babys.

He's an openly proud Christian and a damn good quarterback.

Harvin should probably avoid a confrontation with Vick.

I loved the two titles Urban won at UF, but it’s clear that save for Tebow, there were a lot of jerks on those teams.

Well, hopefully Urban can win one at OSU, though that won’t happen in 2014. (Darn that VA Tech loss). But he kept the team together and that is what a good coach does.

I think it actually showed how good of a leader Tebow was, to manage with that group of thugs, like Hernandez, the Pounceys and Harvin.

Russell Wilson is very well spoken and intelligent. Does that answer your question?

Parents were 2nd generation college educated blacks and formed the core of a new black leadership in this country that would have assimilated blacks and brought them into society. That was hijacked by the Great Society and the destruction of the black family. Now, the Wilson family is an outlier, a reminder of what could have been.

White? Yes, as white as the Italian, Polish, Jewish, Swedish, and Japanese immigrants who came here as outsiders and assimilated to the existing culture. They were about to overcome, but then decided to go back to the plantation again. Or more accurately, were sent back their by their Democrat overlords who have always been their masters, since 1650.
