Grandfather is Shot, but Shoots 3 of 3 Home Invaders Who Tried to Rape His Granddaughter, Killing 1

A man who said he was having trouble with his car convinced Kenneth Byrd, age 67, to open his door. His wife and 19 year old granddaughter were at home at the time.

That was all the opportunity the three man home invasion crew needed. The trio burst into the home, guns drawn and threatened the residents.

According to local media reports, what happened next was nothing short of terrifying:

The Byrds were pushed to the back of their home and instructed to open a safe.

When the men tried to rape the couple’s granddaughter, Byrd grabbed a gun and exchanged shots with the assailants, [Sheriff Kenneth Sealey] said.

The men fled in Byrd’s car.

Thanks. The man took on a rush of three armed punks and managed to send one to the morgue and two to surgery.

Important point: He saved his family. They were physically unharmed after this. Total hero. He even got shot and I suspect it was by putting himself between his family and the punks. Total hero.
