Yes, there was a drill at the Ferndale school and they kept mentioning Mountainview, which is another school in Ferndale. Just bad reporting.

I think that as more and more of these type shootings occur data wii become undeniable that “gun free zones” kill.

I think most schools in Texas now have armed personnel on school grounds when school is in session.

I know of no event in the US where a shooter opened up knowing armed teachers were around!

This shooting came just in time to boost another gun control law up for a vote in Washington in a couple of weeks time on Nov 4, election day:

The Redmond Police Department (RPD) spent last Friday(10-17-14) at Redmond High School (RHS) after receiving a call about an “active shooter” .... the call that came in was actually part of an active-shooter exercise. ...
In addition to RHS staff and faculty participating in the exercise, a number of students from the school’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class and drama department volunteered to participate (aka the “crisis actors”).
...Todd said the RHS staff and administration will discuss the possibility of holding a drill with the rest of the student body, but they want to be careful to not throw kids into crisis as some might panic during a simulation.
