Authorities are saying that at least three officers and one civilian have been shot in two different incidents Friday.
The incident started near Arden Way and Howe Avenue. Lisa Bowman with the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department says that around 10:30 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a suspicious person inside of a vehicle. The suspect shot the deputy at least once during the confrontation.
Bowman says the suspect then fled the scene and tried to steal a car, only to shoot the person. The suspect then went to steal a truck and was successful.
A Blue Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol to be on the lookout for the stolen truck, but it has since been recovered.
Bowman later said that they received credible information from a park ranger that the suspect was seen in Carmichael changing clothes. A female passenger is said to be in the truck with the suspect.
Placer County Sheriffs later confirmed that the crush of police activity in Auburn was related to the incident in Sacramento. Deputies say they are seeking the same suspect.
California Highway Patrol later said that a total of three officers, two in Placer County and one in Sacramento, have been shot in the incidents.
There has been no word on the extent of the injuries on any of the shooting victims.
All Auburn schools, including Placer High School, Chana High School and Maidu High School, are on lockdown, Placer Unified officials confirm.
Crazy friday
First time I’ve heard of a Blue Alert.
This link of KCRA has a current video with info and say they’ll be updating.

“at least three officers and one CITIZEN...”
(not “civilian”).
Prayers offered for all of the victims of this shooting.
“at least three officers and one civilian”
civilian?
Two Hispanics? Hmmmmm.. Drug Cartel in America? Just another day in Ebomaland. Gotta get America’s eyes off Ebola!
That must hurt. Seriously, I hope all shot do recover, well, maybe except for the shooter. These types should be removed from civilized society as they have clearly demonstrated that they cannot be trusted to behave.
The male suspect may be hold up in a house...
Female taken into custody...
More workplace violence?
OTOH, officers are citizens too, but not all “civilians” are citizens.
If he is, use the same tactics the LAPD used on the SLA, burn the place down with him in it.
Unlikely. The Sacramento deputy went to a Motel 6 responding to a call about a “suspicious” Hispanic couple. He approached their vehicle and the first shootout happened, followed by a chase. My bet is they are regular criminals, probably wanted for other crimes already.
Breaking, woman suspect in custody, still searching for the male.
Absolutely...take no prisoners
Apparently the shooter was shot earlier and is now holed up in a house on Belmont in Auburn. Five police helicopters in the air with snipers on the ground getting into position. Some schools nearby are being evacuated.
