The Establishment Almost Had Me
freedomoutpost.com ^ | 10/24/14

Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter almost had me convinced the other night. They almost had me. I think even Mark Levin hinted at it.

Elect Republicans, any republican, to stop Obama's agenda and get rid of Harry Reid.

Ann Coulter was so animated over it that I thought she was going to melt down. She was visibly and mockingly furious with anyone stupid enough not to vote for those like Mitch McConnell, or her love, as she describes him, Scott Brown. All the republicans she is pushing are Chamber of Commerce, big government hacks.

Anyway, this seems to be the refrain from the right, not just from the establishment, but also from conservatives. We must halt the Obama surge and throw out Harry Reid, so let's hold our collective noses once again and pull the lever.

And then what? And then no one has an answer because there is no answer, and they will not allow that question to be asked.

So, I guess I'll ask it again. And then what? Republicans take control of the House and Senate and then what?

Let me also answer that. Nothing gets done. At least nothing we want. Nothing gets slowed down or stalled. Nothing gets repealed. And why? Well, they already have a built in excuse for that. Now they need the presidency in 2016 to really get things done.

Generally, not if one remains objective, truly has a desire to make the best decision and focuses on the word, "lesser".

In the case at hand, given the current politics the moral differences are quite obvious.

Let me give you the most glaring example that proves you wrong:

Mitt Romney

1. Supports Abortion
2. Supports the Gay Agenda, including Gays in the Boy Scouts and Military, Gay Adoption, and single-handedly implemented Gay Marriage in MA.
3. Supports Amnesty
4. Supports Socialized Medicine
5. Supported Global Warming scam.

You are exhibiting the problem with reacting out of fear and Political Party tribal politics.

You lose your objectivity.

Who cares about the grass? My point is that it is the same damn road.

That sounds really deep but you realize we wouldn’t have Obamacare if the republicans had had control of the house and senate? I can offer several other examples but I won’t.

You do realize that even when they had the opportunity to stop Obamacare dead in it's tracks by defunding it, they chose not to, right?

If you don’t vote then unless it’s Independent you do not vote often.

I refuse to cast vote for someone who doesn't share my same values because they use my vote as justification for their agenda.

You are looking at the word, “Lesser,” from the stand point of doing less legislative damage. I would agree. With a Replican Senate we will get nothing for two years, which technically is better. But do the Republicans do less damage to the conservative cause when they stand on the floor of the Senate and call their base Hobbits? Do they do less damage when they ridicule their base for expecting them to repeal Obamacare? Do they do less damage when they go in front of a crowd, and lampoon conservatives in the house? If I had more time I could come up with many more examples of Republicans destroying the conservative brand. Just how are we supposed to convince voters that conservatives have a better plan to run the country when our own leadership ridicules us?

Bullcrap. It might have been called Romney-Care instead, but not a dimes worth of difference. If you are right, then I expect when the Pubbies return to power, that Obama-Care will be immediately voted into the dustbin of history... But I won't be holding my breath.

I am pretty sure getting hit by a car is better than getting hit by a bus, but just because I chose not to get hit by the car doesn’t mean I have chosen to get hit by the bus.

Such an argument reminds me of the "3 guys go to a motel...what happened to the other dollar" form of argument.

For your argument to apply to federal elections, I submit it would be more accurate to view the issue as "your future and that of your family depends on you crossing a busy freeway at a certain point in time although you get the choice of traffic, a line of autos or a line of buses".

You get the last word, but have a nice evening.

Exactly! And for the time being democrats are far worse than rino’s (same animal )...get behind Cruz and keep your powder dry, I do see lead flying if the muzzie in chief tries this amnesty bullshit...remember the old story of “what difference does one gun make”....lot’s of applications for that tale.

I know what the Democrats will do. I don’t know what the Republicans will do.

We’ve stopped them before. We’ll have to stop them again.

If you want to give up moving conservatives forward, go ahead.

I've not yet begun to fight to make sure the GOP-E is defeated and conservatives are victorious!

Great! But you don’t do that by letting COMMIE-Dems become elected to the US Senate, when you could have stopped it!

And you don't do it by voting for those in the GOP-E who do not share your values and have taken what amounts to a blood-oath to see you and your principles defeated.

You do realize that there were a lot of other extenuating circumstances, right? If not, you’re not being honest.

This ain’t the nation you seem to think it is. When they said Romney was our LAST CHANCE I believed them. Personally I think mcCain was our last chance, such s it was.

Same deceitful excuse given every time the GOP refuses to stand on principle.
