Sarah Palin Reportedly Donates Only 5.5% of PAC Money to Actual Candidates
Mediaite ^ | October 20th, 2014 | Tina Nguyen

Sarah Palin‘s PAC is extremely stingy when it comes to donating money to her fellow Republicans: a report from Open Secrets reveals that since the 2014 two-year election cycle began, her PAC has raised a total of $2.7 million dollars, but only donated $150,000 of that money to actual candidates, a donation rate of 5.5%.

This year was even worse: according to SarahPAC’s third quarter filings this year, they had $1.4 million cash in hand, but only donated $45,000 to nine Congressional candidates — about 3% — between July 1st and September 30th. What did they spend the rest on?

Many of the same consultants she has used all along — for speechwriting, fundraising, logistics and research. There’s even someone paid to consult on “coalitions.” Travel, presumably for Palin, is part of the equation; a PAC like this is useful for keeping a high profile nationally without having to pay those pesky airline and hotel tabs out of personal funds. And the PAC sent $10,885 to HarperCollins — publisher of all three of Palin’s books — for “books for donor fulfillment.” That wasn’t the only book purchase by the committee: A lump sum of $13,000 was listed as being spent for “lodging, SUV rental, books for donors.”

According to OpenSecrets, Palin’s PAC is notoriously “parsimonious,” noting that “of the 417 leadership PACs that made at least one contribution in that cycle, SarahPAC was one of only 19 to give less than 10 percent of its total expenditures to candidates, other PACs or party committees.”

They also note that many of the candidates she’s donated to in this quarter are either extremely long shots or no longer in the running. For instance, she donated $5,000 to Joe Miller, a Tea Party candidate who attempted to run for the US Senate seat held by Democrat Mark Begich. “Miller lost to Dan Sullivan in the GOP primary, but Palin has not seen fit to donate to the Republican nominee, who is locked in nearly a dead heat with Begich,” Open Secrets observed, and added that Palin herself has only donated $628 to a federal candidate in her entire life.

SarahPAC has yet to publicly comment on the story.

Of course the Sarah sycophants will deny all.

As a so called 'sycophant", I would suggest she go on the speech tour and demand $275,000 per appearance like the other female does........

Why the harsh bro?

“Makes you wonder if she’s planning on running against Slick Willie’s wife in ‘16. Hmmmm.”

Sarah is either corrupt and stupid (not likely) or she has plans. I think she is already sufficiently rich, thank you very much, that pilfering that PAC account doesn’t seem high on the probability list.

I would have no problem with that. Then she could afford to pay for her own travel expenses. I just wonder how many of the folks who donate to SarahPAC know how much of their donations goes to that compared to campaign contributions.

As for Sarah, I've always liked her and still do. I think she did a big disservice to us with her 2012 "maybe I'm running" tease. I take her at her word that she was undecided, but she should have made a decision earlier instead of waiting well beyond the time frame she herself acknowledged she need to decide by. IMHO it prevented a lot of her supporters from coalescing behind one conservative candidate and helped Romney win the nomination. That doesn't mean I don't like her, it just means she made a poor choice. But to the true believers just saying that means I'm "against" and "trashing" her.

That’s what they want you to believe. It’s your vote that’s of value.

If the politician represents the people in a district in Arizona, why should Soros be allowed to buy a piece of him?

Maybe what we need to do in elections is to outlaw all donations, PAC Money, Etc. and all candidates limited to spending no more than say a maximum $50,000 of their own money and see what happens.

Palin endorsed the “independent” and democRAT candidates for governor and Lt. Governor. She failed conservatives and me. I say this as a former Palinaholic.

She certainly did.

Alaska Wins With Independence; Stepping Aside for the Greater Good

Our family is proud to support Bill Walker to lead Alaska! Bill Walker, Byron Mallott, and their families joined with ours and other Alaskans in Todd’s airplane hangar this week in a show of true Alaskan support, complete with a potlatch brimming with salmon, moose, and caribou hors d’oeuvres. Life-long Alaskans Bill and Byron have proven that they truly have our state’s heart and believe in putting Alaska first and ignoring status quo politics that get in the way of Alaska’s destiny. This is refreshing and productive, and Alaska wins when Team Walker wins! This unity ticket came about when winners of their respective primary races selflessly stepped aside for the sake of Alaska! This is rarely done in politics and proves that this strong independent ticket represents an Alaskan-sized heart, putting people over party machine politics and Alaskans over egos.

Bill’s blue collar history and professional experience in practicing law fit perfectly with policies to move our state forward by developing our abundant natural resources. He and Byron are proven fiscal conservatives who know state government’s recent practice of deficit spending will halt development and make us dependent on a dysfunctional federal government.

The Last Frontier’s destiny as the nation’s leader in energy development, which will lead to Alaskan independence while helping secure our union, can only be fulfilled with decisive leadership that puts our residents first. The ability to move us forward by empowering a thriving private sector takes unifying action. Too many long-awaited projects and challenges – like the National Guard scandal – are made worse because of indecisive leadership, and that’s debilitating. We can’t afford to put development on the back burner while other states and nations surpass our opportunities, and we can’t sweep ethics problems under the table.

Unfortunately, in desperation to halt Team Walker’s momentum, lies are running rampant. Sadly, one such lie is about their faith. Don’t believe the million dollar Outside money ads perpetuating misrepresentations; just ask the guys themselves where they stand. For example, on the issue of respecting a culture of life, a pro-family group is grossly misrepresenting Bill’s position. He is unapologetically pro-life. Groups, individuals, and incumbent politicians telling you otherwise are untruthful, and that says everything about their character. Shame on people who know better and are in positions to counter lies but turn a blind eye instead. This kind of politics of personal destruction is why our country is hurting; adding to the pain are attempts here in Alaska to destroy a good man. Participants in this do not deserve your support.

I’m proud of the ethics reform my administration ushered in, and I know Bill and Byron will re-start and build on that with an independent spirit beholden only to the people of Alaska, not to any political party. Nothing’s been handed to these guys. They’ve worked alongside us all over the state in true Alaskan spirit and know the value of a good job. They want that for every Alaskan family! So our diverse family, enjoying years of connections with both candidates, take a stand for Bill and Byron’s unity team. It’s time to get our state back on track to fiscal discipline so we can grow with the surplus Alaska had enjoyed under my administration.

Please support Walker/Mallott on November 4th. Alaska First! It’s time.

- Sarah Palin

I cannot and will not separate social issues from business ones. A governor sets policy in a state and if I can vote against a spineless independent and a rat, I will 10 times out of 10.
The only reason I can think why she really did it was because she was mad at Parnell, a good conservative, is because he changed the tax policy that Palin set up. Pure retribution. Pure Crap. Palin will never get my approval again unless she apologizes.

The Romneyites will try to kill any credibility that Sara can bring to the table before 2016, you can be sure of that.

What leads you to believe they are all truly CONSERVATIVE FReepers?
Can you say mole, can you say fifth columnist?
Can you say working on 23rd Free Republic identity?
I have learned in my life to trust no one and nothing; until I have proven it, or them, to my own satisfaction.
