New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio condemned the treatment of a symptom-free nurse quarantined in New Jersey after she returned from caring for Ebola patients in West Africa, saying, What happened to her was inappropriate..
De Blasios remarks came during a news conference at New York Citys Bellevue Hospital, where a doctor infected with the deadly virus remained in serious but stable condition Sunday, showing slight improvement. Dr. Craig Spencer had recently returned from a stint with Doctors Without Borders in West Africa, where he treated Ebola patients. Spencer tested positive for Ebola on Thursday.
The mayor spoke during a time of heightened anxiety both in the nations largest city and in the governors offices of New York, New Jersey and Illinois, with the states ordering medical personnel returning from West Africa to be preemptively quarantined for 21 days -- the longest incubation period known for Ebola.
Even as De Blasio called for unity among local, state and federal officials, he pushed back against treatment of the quarantined nurse, Kaci Hickox, who had returned to New Jersey after treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone.
Hickox took to CNN and to the pages of the Dallas Morning News to say she'd been brusquely interrogated in Newark upon landing. She has tested negative for the virus -- though it wouldn't necessarily be detectable this early -- and is being held in an isolation tent in University Hospital in Newark.
This hero, coming back from the front, doing the right thing, was treated with disrespect, was treated as if she has done something wrong, which she hasnt, De Blasio said.

Good; let her come over to Gracie Mansion and take up with the lesbo and his two weirdo kids. Fine with me!
Lighten up Wilhelm. Geez. Get a frickin’ life, will ya!
Win - win solution. NJ should take her in quarantine to the New York City Hall, and turn her loose. Everyone gets what they want.
Now that’s an excellent idea. Won’t happen because leftists have big mouths which spew hypocrisy. The original NIMBY.
His lordship is not trans-Hudson.
Thanks be to God.
This seems to be a coordinated attack from the left. How did Cuomo get left out? I guess ‘cause they wanted him reelected or something.
kaiser Warren Wilhelm, you don’t rule New Jersey.
hehehe yeah or something.
I am starting to think these people are possessed. Literally. Or otherwise just plain evil.
Even stupid does not come THIS stupid.
Remember, the moon astronauts were quarantined.
These iditots are playnig stupid politics.
Hickox is an idiot
Blow it out your Wilhelm, Deblasio.
However, liberal democrat disrespect of the Constitution and the American people knows no limits.
Commie’s lining up on one side, and...........wait! who’s on the other side for us?
Well, de Blasio, why don’t you show us how much you respect her by going over to New Jersey and holding her hand while she is in quarantine?
These people are deluded and insane with their political posturing.
Probably. Or he knows Obola will have the buck stop with him in the event of an ebola outbreak and the unforeseen ramifications from it.
So, is it the case that Commie Bill de Blasio is not smart enough to understand the devastating potential of Ebola gaining a foothold in a densely-populated area such as NYC, or does he believe that it’s only fair to spread the disease around equally?
I am starting to think these people are possessed. Literally. Or otherwise just plain evil.
They are Evil.
That ‘normal” people can’t see them for what they are is maddening and extremely frustrating.
Discernment is foreign to most people today.
I see what this loon & the White Hut are trying to do..won’t work, people are scared & they’re on the losing argument. I smell Obola Ceaser Klain behind this..disgusting.
