This is amazing to me.

Liberal comedian/loudmouth Bill Maher is not liberal enough for Berkeley.

And, showing how tolerant they are of other views, they want to ban him from speaking. How do they reconcile the liberal values of tolerance and diversity with banning someone from speaking????

As I sit here, a middle-aged guy, reading this article, I can’t but help think how much firckin’ trouble this nation is going to be in as I get older.

Whether we like it or not, a fair amount of these doofuses (or is doofi?) are going to rise to positions of responsibility and importance.

That does not bode well for the future of this nation.

Whuh-huh? Sounds like Maher is fixing to get a huge dose of his own medicine.

"Bill Maher’s public statements on various religions and cultures are offensive"

My spin-detector is in the red zone. This is about Maher's recent comments on one particular religion (Islam). I seriously doubt there's much outrage over anything else that's come out of Maher's nasty piehole over the years.

I don't understand why they chose him in the first place. Maher is probably the last person I'd want to speak at any event I attended.

A clown in full make up would be preferable.

“Bill Maher is a blatant bigot and racist who has no respect for the values UC Berkeley students and administration stand for,” the petition reads. “Bill Maher’s public statements on various religions and cultures are offensive and his dangerous rhetoric has found its way into our campus communities.”

Pot, meet kettle. UC Berkely is filled with blatant bigots and racists. Compared to some of them, Bill Maher is probably a piker.

“Marium Navid and Khwaja Ahmed”

And there you have it. I applied, and was accepted, to UC Berkley four times. I went to a military academy, and by the end of the academic year, I was so fried that I figured I’d bail and go civilian.

The summer programs were so cool that you didn’t want to miss those. By the end of the summer, you’d forgotten how bad the academic year was.

Anyway, I wanted an EE degree from them. I visited the campus my junior year of HS, and knew pretty quickly that I didn’t want to go to school there. I reapplied anyway because at the time their degrees were pretty well respected.

That ship has sailed. They nearly lost their accreditation twice. The good old days of the Physics program are long behind them as well.

Berkeley used to be a giant. Has two elements named after it (Californium and Berkelium). Gorgeous campus, and then you hit Telegraph Ave. Not good.

“liberal values of tolerance and diversity”

That’s why I call these people leftists, not liberals. Bill Maher may be a real liberal.

UC Berkely is filled with blatant bigots and racists.

That screwel is a massive joke. They don't even teach American of the real type there. Give me Liberty! (University), Hillsdale or Bob Jones for a solid, fact-based education.

So, UC Berkeley student government senator Marium Navid and Khwaja Ahmed, what exactly is the difference between you and any other brown-shirted, Nazi-inspired book burner?

I suspect Bill Maher wouldn’t be so disappointed to not have to give the winter commencement. There is no such thing as bad publicity.

How many offensive comments had Maher made over how many years before he was invited as a commencement speaker? No one cared until he dared comment against Islam. Oh, yeah, that’s a different story!
