After recognizing Palestine, Swedish legislators spar

One day after the Swedish government officially recognized the state of Palestine, members of the Parliament, Riksdagen, disagreed on whether this decision was right or “immature”.

The leftist government, which took office only a month ago after winning national elections in September, on Thursday (30 October) became the first European country to recognize the state of Palestine.

This prompted Israel to recall its ambassador to Sweden to Jerusalem on the same day. The country also threatened that further cuts to the two countries’ diplomatic relations can be expected.

Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman said Sweden “needs to understand that relations in the Middle East are more complicated than a piece of furniture from IKEA that you assemble at home”, according to Haaretz.

Birgitta Ohlsson, Sweden’s former European affairs and democracy minister, called the decision immature, saying that it legitimizes Hamas, the Islamist political party running Gaza, and that this would paralyze the peace process. …

The Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza have had 66 years to decide to live in peace along side Israel. They chose the path of terrorism and killing innocents instead.

Can Sweden and any other nation that plans on recognizing a “Palastinian State”, please list the following for me.

What five things did the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza do to convince you they were worthy and it was time to recognize them among the world’s legitimate nations?

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

Good luck with that.

The very name “Palestine” is derived from the Philistines. In Arabic, it’s pronounced “Al-Philistina” (transliteration not orthodox compared to “Al-Filestina”, but that’s how it sounds).

Sweden should definitely allow more Somali jihadis into the country so they can continue their rape campaign. Who needs all those blond, blue-eyed babies anyway? /sarcasm

I appreciate the mention. That had been my take on it too.

In recent years I have begun to only use it where it makes it clearer in the context of actions by political entities.

If Sweden recognizes a “Palestinian State”, it’s silly for me to reference giving statehood to the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza. It’s going to be called Palestine whether I like it or not.

When I reference these people, I call them the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza. I will not refer to them as Palestinians.

...the Swedish government officially recognized the state of Palestine...

May Sweden and Swedes garner the full benefits due appeasement of Islamic terrorists.

The reality is that Sweden is a close ally with Palestine!

Thanks for the mention.  I wasn't aware of that.  Good grief you would think a Western Nation would know better.

I can see referring to them as Palestonians. When no weapons are around, they’ll use stones to throw at Israelis; they use stones to honor-kill woman; their utopian society is the Stone age.

Was it Sweden where the guy went postal and killed the children at a leftwing party training camp?

we can think of only two explanations for why anybody would recognize the non-existent state of ‘palestine’

either they are Nazis
or else
they are having a nightmare hallucination on LSD

hopefully, it is the second...........so that if they recover from their drugs they might want to cancel all the ridiculous things they did while they were out of their minds

answer: they kill Jooos

that’s why Sweden “recognized” their imaginary, fake, non-existent “state”

Sweden had Raol Wallenberg, hero of WW2.
Other than that,
Sweden was supplying Nazi Germany with mulitary-supporting gear for years after the Nazis made their murderous plans crystal clear

I wasn’t aware of the Swedish complicity.

I think all of Europe was involved in this to a certain degree, up until the invasions.

Doing business with Germany continued far too long as it does with China today. Greedy Capitalists unable to restrain their quest for even more profits can’t seem to get it right.

I favor Capitalism as the best system around, but you can’t toss common sense to the wind in the quest for Capitalist purity.

Moderation in ALL things.
