Mainstream GOP sees tipping point vs. insurgent candidates (Tea Party Are Losers)
Politico ^ | 11/3/14 | ALEXANDER BURNS

For the Republican Party’s leadership, taking control of the U.S. Senate might not even be the sweetest part of a victory in 2014. With growing confidence as Election Day approaches, Republican leaders are preparing to argue that broad GOP gains in the House and Senate would represent a top-to-bottom validation of their party’s mainline wing. Having taken a newly heavy-handed approach to the primary season this year, the top strategists of the Republican coalition say capturing the majority would set a powerful precedent for similar actions in the future — not just in Senate and congressional races, but in the presidential primary season as well.

National Republicans managed this year to snuff out every bomb-throwing insurgent who tried to wrest a Senate nod away from one of their favored candidates. They spent millions against baggage-laden activists such as Matt Bevin, the Louisville investor who mounted a ham-fisted challenge to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, the conservative upstart who imperiled a safe seat by nearly ousting longtime Sen. Thad Cochran.

...If this fresh tack leads to victory, Republicans expect that aggressive posture (warring on Conservative Tea Party) will carry over into 2016.

I’m sure Issa will hold hearings as every bit as decisive and punishing of malfiecance as they did the Benghazi and Fast and Furious hearings.

We already have a blueprint and track record of how the GOP will deal with the IRS and health Care.

Don’t expect any change from where we are today, you will just up your blood pressure on a daily basis until 2016 when you will again tell yourself that this time the GOP will make a difference.

I have been very upset today listening to Laura and Rush tout this story. One of my coworkers said he was no longer going to vote tomorrow for any Republican. The Democrats would have given millions for the free suppression of TP voters that Rush and Laura handed them today.

Yes, I am beyond p****d at the timing.

Which is why I don’t want the GOP to win tomorrow but for a couple candidates). Their first order of business will be to rid themselves of us. And they will have the leverage to do some real damage.

What, you think it will be GOOD for the Tea Party if they do win? On what planet?

My comments had nothing to do with any reports from the leftists. I merely made a comment that some of the TEA Party candidates weren’t properly vetted. Geesh, WTF is wrong with YOU? I’m quite aware what the lamestream media is doing and haven’t read or listened to any of their crap. I was agreeing with Mark and Rush that we need to take the Senate. I’m sorry that your cognitive skills have been weighed and found wanting.

Well Alex, you just keep whistling past the graveyard.

This is just the first step to the Right, en-route to the 2016 election of President TED CRUZ!

“Cognitive Dissonance at play”

I actually have a pretty good understanding of Psychology. I’ve studied it for a good period to time now.

Please educate me about how my last reply is an example of “Cognitive Dissonance”?

I think you are leaving out the Ebola factor and panic in the US. If Ebola takes hold there will be uprisings all over the US. Big changes will have to take place. Obama will become a non entity and the working class will demand changes.

You are paying attention to the things that Cruz is saying, right?

With guys like him, and Sessions and Lee already in the Senate, even Rand Paul on a lot of stuff, plus the new Conservative Senators who could be elected PLUS the majority there’s no way in Hell they’re going to get rid of us. Even if they pulled out all the stops in trying.

We. Are. Not. Going. Away.

And even if I don’t trust McConnell I DO trust Cruz etc to hold his feet to the fire.

“should this article prove true its time for 3rd party.

First I believe it has been proved true over the last 2 years by the leaderships behaviors. Second I would argue its time for a “second” party. We currently have one party with two wings, the big Government party.

History and human nature teach us that when there is widespread misery and panic, people will accept any and every form of tyranny in order to establish "order" with the promise of provision.

Don't think for a second that Obama and the MarxoFascists are not ready to 'save us' from calamity, one they helped foster and create. It's what every Marxist revolution needs to establish their iron-fisted rule over a people.

I believe Obama and his ilk understand history very well, and collapsing our economy atop our heads and creating mass misery and panic fits with his transformative agenda.

All I could think about as Rush reviewed this on air was several things:

This is exactly why I despise the ‘get out and vote’ garbage we see here on FR. The folks crowing about just go vote against the democrat...really, if this is true then the Republican party is not republican anymore.

” The truth is, the GOP has given us no reason to vote for them outside of stating ‘They are not Democrats” and/or “stop Harry Reid, vote for me” while telling us in advance they plan to surrender power to Reid should they win; ObamaCare is here to stay” and Amnesty is going to happen in some form.

If there is suppression of turnout for the GOP, the Ruling Class only has themselves to blame.”

BINGO!

I predicted this months ago. The GOPe will erroneously conclude their middle of the road, act like Dems, big government style won the day.

So please FReepers, tell me again how we just HAVE to give the Republicans the Senate? Just to dump Harry Reid? That’s not much of a reason.

I’ll give the GOPe just two weeks after tomorrow to start the cave-in to Obama with a CR for the entire FY2015 with NO cuts anywhere. No threat to “shutdown” the government (that’s garlic to the GOPe blood suckers). A push for Amnesty to “grow the economy” (that’s the biggest head scratcher for me). Raising the minimum wage.

Then they’ll start the Mitt/Jeb/Fat One push for 2016 while beating up Ted Cruz.

They lacked the interest to pursue the IRS because they were part of the suppression themselves.

“We” didn’t allow Clinton to beat HW Bush. HW Bush lost because he spent 4 years repudiating Reagan’s policies.

Perot did more to elect Clinton because he somehow convinced idiots on both sides he was some fiscal genius when he was a carnival barker that made all of his money off of taxpayers with state contracts to process welfare checks.
