Several Tea Party icons, including Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Sarah Palin, and former Representative Allen West (R-FL), are urging Tea Party activists around the country to help Republicans take back the majority in the U.S. Senate in next weeks 2014 mid-term elections through a low budget but heart-felt social media campaign of personalized YouTube videos.
Dollar for dollar, these short YouTube pitches may end up being the most cost-effective assistance the Republican Party receives in the last week of the campaign. Targeted at the passionate Tea Party conservatives who powered the huge wave in the 2010 mid-terms that saw the Republicans take back a majority in the House of Representatives, the videos attempt to make the case that, despite four years of Republican establishment backsliding on the promises of the 2010 election, the future of the country depends on the outcome of the 2014 election.
These pitches, coming from Tea Party-aligned political leaders who enjoy high levels of trust with Tea Party activists around the country, are a timely boost for the Republican Party. Tea Party activists are not particularly enthused about the choices in the 2014 general election, whose marquis contest in the Kentucky U.S. Senate race will turn on whether Tea Party Republicans show up and vote for McConnell, nose-holding or not, as Sam Youngman at the Lexington Herald Leader reported.
With the losses of Tea Party-endorsed candidates in Republican primaries in Kentucky, Mississippi, Kansas, and Tennessee, Tea Party activists have no one left to cheer for. As a result, most consider this a hold your nose election where they are forced to vote for the least bad option, which in most cases is the moderate Republican, as opposed to the far left Democrat (in Kansas, the far left Democrat is listed on the ballot as an Independent).
The Tea Party icons in these videos are reminding the true believers in limited government that sometimes the best course of action is to hold your nose and vote for the least bad option, especially if one result of that vote will be the deposing of Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) as the majority leader of the U.S. Senate.
The low budget YouTube videos have an equally low budget distribution mechanism. Sources tell Breitbart News that several groups including Americans for Limited Government, Tea Party Patriots, and For America, a conservative 501 c 4 whose Facebook page has more than six million likes will be sending links out to these videos in their regular email messages.
Representative Louie Gohmerts video begins with the assertion that this is a country in trouble. Every Tea Party activist, he urges, should vote as if your country depends on it.
With less than a week until election day, these Tea Party icons are hoping that the anticipated small margin needed for victory by Republican candidates in several key swing states may come from Tea Party activists energized by their YouTube video pitches.
The Cochran mess leaves a stink they all seem to be ignoring. Except that I wish he would lose, a Senate win might work out okay. If they get the majority, it's with a few more conservatives in the US Senate, and one female who is not an embarrassment to real women everywhere. (as are the rest of the female US Senators, both parties).
This way, we'll see. Will the supposed conservatives in the HOR give us a decent speaker? Will the US Senate actually reflect the voters who put them in office? We'll know, either way.
If it's DC games as usual, the nation won't survive much longer. At least we'll know where we're at, and the RINOs won't have anyone to blame but themselves.
Yes... but only if Mitch and Thad lose....
Yep, your worthless write-in vote will make a big difference. To you.
So the IRS scandal, Benghazi, voter fraud, Holder's crimes - all go bye-bye under McConnell.
Voting for McConnell is far more worthless to liberty and Conservatism.
He is either delusional or sarcastic. I am hoping for the latter.
I can’t believe there is a loudmouth contingent here that keeps saying give RINO’s power and then run away when nothing changes.
Then the next election cycle comes and it’s all loudmouth posturing again about how important it is to elect anyone with an R by their name over any D like it’s “better”. When it’s never better why can’t those loudmouths learn their lesson and shut up?
You’re far too nice, INVAR: you’re actually willing to show.
As for the assembled luminaries. They’re entitled to their opinion, I’m entitled to mine. if you lie with dogs, don’t be surprised if you wake up with fleas. I don’t like fleas. Other people don’t seem to mind them. Different strokes I guess.
Now onto more important topics. When I go through my sock drawer tomorrow, do you think I should put the colored socks with the white ones, or should I keep them separate?
Let’s see..the credibility of Cruz, Lee, West and Palin or anonymous internet guy....Or are those four also just “GOP Ruling Class fascist Establishment stooges”? Yes or no.
Once the election is over- the Tea Party reps need to wach their backs.
And Thad Cochran thanks you.
brilliant.
Beginning tonight I think you should have a Vienna Beef Hot Dog with extra relish, pickles grilled onions and sauerkraut - and to flick the noses of the Czars of Appetite, drown it in ketchup and enjoy with a large draft on tap Pale Ale
For breakfast tomorrow eat a few boiled eggs and a can of Hormel Chili with extra beans and half a brick of pepperjack cheese with some hard salami.
Then when you go to the polls to vote, do a set of twenty jumping jacks in the parking lot, suck down a large diet Coke, go into the poll - and after casting you ballot - let all that gas loose and proclaim liberty!
Let’s all put how long we have voted in our tagline. The reader will be able to cut through a lot of of the BS such as “I’ll never vote for (two people from different states) AGAIN.” How about I’m not old enough to vote, but my opinion deserves your time.

None of those people are on my ballot tomorrow, but I wish they were.
None of those people are going to be the GOP Majority Leader. I wish they were.
None of those people will be able to stop the surrender of the agenda to Obama at the hands of McConnell and Boehner. who have already told us that is the game plan. I wish that reality was not so - but there it is.
Naah. I plan to give the polls a wide berth tomorrow. Instead I’ll celebrate “victory” with a good beer and a well organized sock drawer.
2014 is going to be a banner year for the nonvoting majority. And 2016 is looking pretty good as well.
All of those people are telling you not to waste your vote. So please stop with the name calling when all I’m suggesting is the same thing that they are.
Well, at least go to the polling place to share your contempt for the Ruling Class Oligarchy and the system they have corrupted for themselves.
After all, since We The People have to hold our noses to vote, you should help make the reason more self evident.
Bring your dog if you need to. I plan to smirk as I ask “You gettin’ some of that?” as I waft the vapors around.
The truth is what is curdling in your bowels stinks far less than some of the turds we are stuck having to vote for.
Writing in a Conservative or voting for them 3rd party is NEVER a wasted vote.
Only Party Loyalists and political hacks make such a suggestion. I'm a Conservative, NOT a Republican.
