Ted Cruz Is The Frontrunner For The Republican Nomination
BuzzFeed News ^ | November 3, 2014 | Katherine Miller

What happens when you combine establishment credentials with a true believer.

The next week will involve a lot of talking about the “wide open” contest for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, about the strong field, about whether the strong field is irretrievably damaged, about how there isn’t a clear frontrunner.

This isn’t true. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz — the true outsider, the tribune of the grassroots, the ruthless lawyer — is the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination.

This is not trolling. This is serious. Conservatives vote in Republican primaries. And Cruz is really good at talking to conservatives.

Even his enemies will concede Cruz is smart. And his resume is strong — Princeton and Harvard Law School; success at the highest level of American law; serious jobs in federal and state government; and an underdog Senate victory in 2012. The strikes against Cruz as a Republican candidate usually run something like this: He doesn’t poll well; the shutdown freaked people out; he can be grim; he’s not well-regarded among Senate Republicans. Cruz, who quickly replaced Jim DeMint as the most hated man on Capitol Hill, has been underestimated for what is basically a credential: Even Republicans in Washington hate him.

Let’s work through the rest of this like a geometric proof.

Yes, in the first big Iowa poll last month, Cruz trailed some other Republican contenders.

But more than a year before the Iowa caucuses, presidential polls are just tests of name recognition. And so they tell us one thing: The Democratic field is very closed; the Republican field is very open. That’s it. Mitt Romney polls very well for that reason — high name recognition in a field of parity....

Have noticed of late that none of the FNC polls even list Cruz as a possible contender.

That says a lot........ about FNC and the GOPe coziness.

Actually I think it pays well that Cruz is the stealth candidate. Early birds get the birdshot.

When did this start?

The moment the election is over, the demonification of Ted Cruz will become the top priority of the GOPe and media.

The existence of Joe Biden proves smart and conservative is no way to go through politics. Teardown of Cruz will commence very soon.

To paraphrase Mencken, we’re going to get the Christie or Bush we deserve, good and hard.

I ignored every appeal to donate this cycle except in one state race in which I was involved.

I’ve met and donated to Cruz in the past. I attended a Republican event where his father was the speaker. He comes from great stock.

When he runs, my wife and I will make a maximum donation to both his primary and general run.

“Cruz is much more establishment than a lot of FReepers think, or would like to believe.”

The biggest red flag with respect to Ted Cruz is his wife’s position as an executive of Goldman Sachs. Goldman is the worst of the “too big to fail” Wall Street Banks. It is the lead bank of the global banking cartel that has done so much to destroy the USA during the past 50 years. George Bush’s third Secretary of the Treasury and father of the bank bailouts with taxpayer money, Hank Paulson, was a former Goldman CEO. Jon Corzine, another Goldman CEO, was a corrupt New Jersey politician (Governor and US Senator) after leaving Goldman plus he has escaped prosecution for the billions stolen from MF Global customers. Goldman was a significant financial contributor to the election of Barack Obama in 2008. The bankers at Goldman are notorious for making money on both sides of financial transactions, yet somehow the bank escapes prosecution for blatant conflict of interest.

Mrs. Cruz sits comfortably in the executive suite at Goldman while her husband runs around the country opposing crony capitalism and leftist politicians owned by Goldman Sachs. Is this coincidence, a sign of tolerance by the leftist statists who also occupy the boardroom at Goldman, or evidence Cruz is just another actor playing his role in the kabuki theater show put on for the sheeple?

If Cruz is a patriot true and conservative, how can he and his wife be associated with a corrupt criminal financial organization, allied with leftist globalist statists, and strongly supportive of government actions suppressing liberty? Why is Mrs. Cruz able to maintain her status as a Goldman insider and decision maker?

“Cruz has been giving lately, here’s the kind of pitch Cruz is probably going to make to conservatives: I will lower taxes, I will protect religious liberty, I will enforce immigration laws strictly, I will defend Israel, I will restore America’s robust presence in the world.’

This is what I want also. Go Ted.

” The biggest red flag with respect to Ted Cruz is his wife’s position as an executive of Goldman Sachs. Goldman is the worst of the “too big to fail” Wall Street Banks.”

Goldman is certainly the most crooked. They sold billions of mortgage-backed securities to their investors, then turned around and “shorted” those same securities, knowing it was toilet paper. But Goldman wisely gave Obama millions, so Holder never went after who I believe are the biggest crooks on Wall Street.

“The Naturalization Act of 1790 probably constitutes the most significant evidence available. Congress enacted this legislation just three years after the drafting of the Constitution, and many of those who voted on it had participated in the Constitutional Convention. The act provided that “children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens.” - Professor Sarah Helene Duggin

Remember McCain? ...the Senate passed a resolution declaring that “John Sidney McCain, III, is a ‘natural born Citizen” under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.”

I agree that this a legitimate concern. I am hoping maybe someone can offer some kind explanation? What exactly is Mrs. Cruz's position at Goldman Sachs? Does anyone have accurate information?

Let’s be fair. Jeb Bush didn’t murder Terry Schiavo. That could be more appropriately laid at the door of the judge and even then it was the husband. Jeb wasn’t courageous enough to engage in civil disobedience against that judge, but he didn’t murder Terry. I oppose Jeb for amnesty, common core and silliness.

Oh that Divine Providence will provide a candidate who understands, and, more importantly, can articulate the principles essential to liberty, and laws which protect that liberty!

After all, that understanding among those who framed the Constitution of the United States of America is what made America a place of opportunity for oppressed peoples from all over the world!
