According to Jim Garaghty at National Review, the turnout in Virginia appears to be in line with the 2010 midterm election.

Good news, assuming the voting machines haven’t been all doctored.
What is going on in VA?
“I observed noticeably high turnout when I went to vote at 9:30 this morning. I live in a Republican-dominated suburb.”
That’s encouraging, Steely Tom. Of course if a high proportion of the Dims don’t wake up until around noon, their vote could pick up later in the day. Still, it sounds good so far.
Some have asked why low turnout around 2010 levels is good. In 2010, Republicans did very well in Virginia (as across the nation). If turnout is low (particularly in Northern Virginia), that is good for Gillespie.
I’m also in western Fairfax County, and when I voted at 1:20, there was no line and only one voter filling out his ballot. The election assistant said turnout was light, and I was #820.
Holder’s DOJ will be there to ensure the vote. /S

Come back with a better platform than "lesser of two evils," or "we suck less." Then maybe I'll make it to the polls.
Fearmongering isn't going to rally support. I'm done playing that game and have been since 2008.
I hope the sane people vote this time.

If it’s close, keep an eye on Fairfax County. They usually report last in the state. It’s not uncommon for the “machine” to produce the votes need to nudge the Democrat into the lead. Just ask Mark Obenshain and Ken Cuccinelli.

Voted at 4pm in Northern Virginia, bluest of blue Alexandria City. Only about 5 people in front of me with only two ladies checking ids. No campaign people outside like last time hounding me with Obola campaign literature. Mark Warner signs everywhere and only one Ed Gillespie sign which looked like somebody might of moved it so you would not even notice it. In 2012 there was lots of Obola’s low info people everywhere. Not this time, Mark Warner might want to be concerned from my observation.
Not much enthusiasm in rural Virginia but a decent turnout of the diehard Republicans. I doubt Warmer will lose though, too popular.
