Colossians 2:22 speaking of items intended to perish with use.

Biblically speaking a law prohibiting getting zonked out on something would pass muster. A law prohibiting the ownership of something with which one could get zonked out, would not pass muster. Again, the action, not the item with which the action can be carried out.

So now you’re saying the Bible is pro-pot?

What he's sayinig is clear to anyone with a high-school education ... "pro-pot" is your simpleminded demagogery.

And it sacrificed and ruined other lives. And so will any scheme that does not squarely portray the battle of consequence as being in the unseen realms.

I wish it was only simpleminded... it’s twisted.

Our battle efforts are being fought on the wrong plane, folks.

Spiritual. Spiritual. Spiritual. It is spiritual lack that lures people to seek false solace in intoxicants.

God is willing to do the people of America, indeed of the world, a favor far beyond anything they possibly could deserve. The only hitch: He has to get the glory for it. We can’t brag on us.

I doubt it. Which part do you think he's kidding about?

Following your logic: we shouldn't fight any wars (including civil wars, wars against evil) because, after all, people die and bad things happen.

Actually, why have laws at all. Especially the laws that people break in mass like immigration. Immigration is a hot topic right now.

And I'd like all speed limits abolished because you can probably make a justification that people going too slow is just as dangerous as going too fast. Besides the police only catch maybe 1% of the speeders so it is a hopeless cause. So lets give up on speed limits.

It matters whether you see God as some convenient fictional alias for the flawed aspirations of man, or an actual live supreme being.

I’ve gone with the latter. I don’t have to be right about everything about God to get right WITH God. The key is to willingly lay the burden on Him.

There are bad actions — not bad THINGS, or as sometimes quoted, a pollutant is a resource out of place.

The war on drugs save some lives.

And ends others by putting big profits in criminal hands.

Following your logic: we shouldn't fight any wars (including civil wars, wars against evil) because, after all, people die and bad things happen.

No, the logic is not that "people die and bad things happen" but that the War on Drugs causes people to die and bad things to happen.

Besides the police only catch maybe 1% of the speeders

They don't catch a hundredth as many drug 'crimes' - which can happen anywhere, whereas speeding can happen only on public roads.

You do support legalizing heroin, though, right?

Right. “Everything.” It’s a novel church that you belong to.

Au contraire — it is “Novel churches” that deny parts of the scripture for the sake of expediency.

One would not receive a poison to oneself with thanksgiving. This is talking about hallowed uses, which embracing God makes possible. America’s worst drug isn’t even a drug. It’s an attitude of self pride.

Jesus turned water into wine. If your God is a pot head, that’s fine. But the God of Christians cannot be shown to be a pot user, pot promoter, or in anyway involved in psychotropic drugs. If you’re on drugs now, I urge you to seek treatment.

“America’s worst drug isn’t even a drug.” Do you read what you write before you post? Something cannot be our worst drug and not a drug at the same time.

Yes, I suggest you look up METAPHOR in the dictionary.

Am I speaking with a grownup or a 1st grader?

Oh, you think you used “drugs” as a metaphor, but you don’t realize that using it for real is a problem, not a metaphor.

People can be addicted to many things. Some are worse than literal drugs. If you get hooked on heroin, it does not make me get hooked on heroin. But if you share an idolatry or a demonization around, we all suffer.

I noticed that you avoided the illegal immigration problem.

Illegal drugs and illegal immigration are very similar.

Our effort to control illegal immigration has been a failure so why not just “legalize” illegal immigrants. Why even have immigration laws. I am being sarcastic here.

The root of the problem in both issues is the wide acceptance of both by the general population. What proponents of illegal immigrants and drugs tell us is that everyone does it or it doesn't hurt anyone so why not make it legal.

Also, the stigma has gone and actually it is the stigma that it is pretty effective. Looks at the stats for smoking tobacco over the years. Smoking tobacco has dropped off considerably because of the stigma. That stigma is now gone for pot.

It is ironic that smoking cigarettes is banned is some areas but smoking pot is tolerated. That doesn't make a bit of sense and it is clear that pot has political clout and is even encouraged. Why? Because it is medical. It is a medicine and it is good for you. /sarc

and will support heroin in due time. So it's clear you are promoting vice.

Dragging in other illegal drugs doesn't help your argument - it remains true that if supporting legalization of a currently illegal drug is "promoting" it, then supporting continued legality of the currently legal drugs tobacco and alcohol is likewise "promoting" them.

Do you claim that everyone who supports the legality of alcohol and tobacco is thereby "promoting" those substances?

You do support legalizing heroin, though, right?

I asked first: Do you claim that everyone who supports the legality of alcohol and tobacco is thereby "promoting" those substances?

I noticed that you avoided responding to what I did post.

Our effort to control illegal immigration

What effort? The ICE budget is only $5B, whereas we spend an estimated $40B on the War on Drugs.

has been a failure

Even with a relatively miniscule expenditure, the proportion of Mexicans and Central Americans in this country - no more than 7.5% - is about half the percentage of Americans who smoked pot last year - 14%.
