But you also favor the legality of crystal meth and heroin. You cannot honestly say that you do not. And your logic is like the people who advocated for abortion to save the life of the mother. Once they got that, they went on to abortion up to the third trimester. Then, it was abortion on demand and the public pays for it. Similarly, you're using the legalization of cigarettes and alcohol to get pot legal and will support heroin in due time. So it's clear you are promoting vice. You're just using a Fabian Socialist approach.

The bible would have warned everybody that prohibiting “things” would never work and would have saved America from a grim adventure.

This is not the same thing as prohibiting “actions.”

You wrote: “The bible would have warned everybody that prohibiting things would never work...”. So okay, why didn’t the Bible have a pro-pot or an ant-prohibition warning then? Did God forget to put those chapters into the Bible?

Colossians 2:22 speaking of items intended to perish with use.

Biblically speaking a law prohibiting getting zonked out on something would pass muster. A law prohibiting the ownership of something with which one could get zonked out, would not pass muster. Again, the action, not the item with which the action can be carried out.

So now you’re saying the Bible is pro-pot?

What about heroin? Is the Bible cool on using it too?

For 30+ years the schools have had DARE progras to prevent this gateway drug.
Suddenly not so bad anymore- does this mean that DARE goes away?

No. Because it may not deter everyone but it will help some. No doubt about it.

Stigma helps. Is it fool proof? No, but it helps.

And following this logic, complete acceptance and tolerance will encourage its use. No doubt about it. Even worse is if people lie about the bad side of pot. Distort and lie. And yes, because it is “medical” people will think that it is safe. The same rationale is used when abuse over the counter meds.

And your promoting vice

That never happened ... unless you want to claim that everyone who supports the legality of alcohol and tobacco is thereby "promoting" them.

you're using the legalization of cigarettes and alcohol to get pot legal

No, I'm pointing out that your equating legalization with "promotion" applies just as well to already legal drugs as to currently illegal drugs. Do you claim that everyone who supports the legality of alcohol and tobacco is thereby "promoting" those substances?

and will support heroin in due time. So it's clear you are promoting vice.

Dragging in other illegal drugs doesn't help your argument - it remains true that if supporting legalization of a currently illegal drug is "promoting" it, then supporting continued legality of the currently legal drugs tobacco and alcohol is likewise "promoting" them.

Do you claim that everyone who supports the legality of alcohol and tobacco is thereby "promoting" those substances?

So should we ban those over the counter meds? If not, why should we oppose medical marijuana?

“Everything is permissible if received with thanksgiving” — that ain’t talking about addicts. That is talking about sanity before God. Did you know its heroic name was given by a drug company that was marketing it for ethical use in hospitals, etc.

Are you ready for the next lesson?

Stigma can be bent into counterculture cool... hey the squares hate this, let’s indulge.

It is better never to enter into such worldly games. Respecting God with your life covers a multitude of circumstances and doesn’t need anything to be banned.

Nope. But people are stupid. Especially those who are trying to convince everyone that pot is not harmful.

Nope.

If that's your answer to the first question, what's you answer to the second?

But people are stupid. Especially those who are trying to convince everyone that pot is not harmful.

True, but I can't remember the last time I heard anyone claim pot was harmless. Looks like a straw man.

The war on drugs save some lives.

And ends others by putting big profits in criminal hands.
