New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven voting officials were overwhelmed with more than 1,000 people who showed up the polls today to register to vote.

Large crowds developed at several polling locations across the city, including the Edgewood School in Westville, City Hall, and the Nathan Hill School in the East Shore neighborhood.

A New Haven Registrar of Voters told News 8 that crowds they never anticipated would show up on Election Day to register to vote, did show up. They said the mood was peaceful, and people were having fun, but tensions rose when the people in line discovered the 8:00 p.m. cutoff time.

According to New Haven election officials, anyone that was not inside the door to be processed to register to vote by 8:00 p.m. could be turned away. By 8:15 p.m., many people that were standing in line for hours were venting their frustrations.

More details will be posted to this story as they become available.

Guinta NH-1 Manchester, NH won
Poliquin ME-2, Bangor won

2 new pro-life congressman from New England. Our victories are sweeter ‘cause they are in enemy territory.

until to local GOPers and state organization change their ways, victory isn’t possible.

2018 we need a real candidate for GOV. The self-financing candidates tend to be flawed.

it is above their pay grade.

when I describe to my local RTC some of the methods used by the DEMS .... they scoff. “Nobody can do that. Yer delusional.”

nobody instate could investigate. It would take federal action. At least we have paper ballots. They tried cheating in Hartford, but judge only ordered 2 polling places open past 8pm.

I chatted briefly with the head moderator in charge of the vote for the entire city I am in. He’s a GOP. Everything was over his head.

he didn’t see a problem with using reverse 911 as a GOTV tool.
