Cruz: 'Era of Obama Lawlessness' Is Over

(Newser) – Ted Cruz wasn't on the ballot, but he still seemed pretty giddy with victory last night after his party won control of the Senate. The senator declared that the "era of Obama lawlessness is over" and urged his fellow Republicans to "do everything humanly possible to repeal ObamaCare," the Hill reports. He called the result a "powerful repudiation of the Obama agenda" and urged Republicans "to come together in unity to stand as one"—but declined to say whether he would support Mitch McConnell's bid to become Senate majority leader. "That will be a decision for the conference to make" during leadership elections next week, he told CNN. More:

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

In a perfect world Ted Cruz would be at the helm of the Senate instead of Mitch McConnell.

In a victory speech, McConnell called for cooperation, reports MSNBC. “Just because we have a two-party system doesn’t mean we have to be in perpetual conflict,” he said.”

Voters WANT conflict, and want ALL of Obama’s policies STOPPED!!!!

All of this is setting up a GLARING CONTRAST between McConnell and Cruz.

Cruz was happy today because the States he visited and R candidates he supported mostly won their contests.

McConnell campaigned pretty much just for himself.

Get McConnell out of there.
Find a way to negate the Executive Orders that are surely coming.

I’ll believe it when I see it Ted.

For now, all I’m hearing from the Ruling Class leadership is ‘compromise’ and what they cannot do.

I fear Obama has just begun to fight. He will be worse now—rule by decree like any Banana Republic president-for-life. I feel a constutional crisis coming in 6 months or so. He will have the backing of the MSM and Unions to force his hand to grant citizenship to all foreigners in USA. That and other liberals ideas—he may well be forced out or he may close Congress—he doesn’t need them. In the end it will be the Democrats who will force him out.

So, Reid wants to work with Mitch “to get things done”. That’s rich!

Tie each up with a supreme court visit and tell the country until the supremes settle the cases no one should act on Obamas illegal EOs.

Cruz and Utah's Mike Lee have vowed to thwart any non-essential legislation

Cruz understands what last night's victory really meant. It's NOT a repudiation of incumbents (as the mainstream media and even Fox News is trying to sell us on), it was a repudiation of the progressive/socialist agenda and everything it has wrought.

Cruz and Lee are the power couple of the Senate...I pray that some of the incoming freshmen will be there to lend support to a true conservative agenda and a return to Constitutional principles.

“In a perfect world Ted Cruz would be at the helm of the Senate instead of Mitch McConnell”

If the R’s want to attract younger voters (the ones with jobs) and others, it would be so much better to have the face and voice of the Republic Senate be someone as well spoken as Ted Cruz.
Listening to McConnell talk is like watching paint dry. We
need enthusiam, we need someone people will actually pay attention to...
