WHAT! Smokers have some redeeming value? Why thank you Dollar General. I certainly appreciate your move in to selling a legal product.

Does that make them “chain smokers”?

I recently read a column in the Weekly Standard, the writer was an ex-smoker, and he wanted to see if he could find his old favorite brand, unfiltered Camels.

His old tobacco store was long gone, and the drug and convenience stores didn't have them. The young clerks didn't seem to believe Camel even came unfiltered.

Ha! My Jr. High PE coach smoked unfiltered Lucky Strikes. In his office! In the school!

When I was a kid we’d go to the Beach Army hospital at Ft. Wolters when sick. It was funny to watch the doctors step out in the hall to catch a smoke underneath the no smoking sign...

It is not all that much of a secret, that consumers who are addicted to a product are great customers.

Oakland is definitely the place you'd expect to find them!

Luckies another classic brand.

Here's the column. It's quite good if you used to smoke in the old days.

I'd Walk a Mile

An excerpt:

I knew that Kents contained a filter made with “micronite,” whatever that is, while Parliament’s filters were recessed, for whatever reason. Best of all, of course, were the jingles—give me a piano and I’ll happily play my version of “Take a puff, it’s springtime” (Salem) or “Come up to the Kool taste”—and the no-doubt-deliberately ungrammatical slogans: “Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight than switch” or “Winston tastes good like a cigarette should.”

CVS lost my business when they smoked out the smokers. Who do they think they are?*|* They still sell alcohol though. I like both and never wrecked an automobile from smoking too many cigars.

I manage CVS for a large National Account firm. They lost BILLIONS in revenue by getting rid of smoke sales in their stores. Idiots!!!!!

1. Glad you have a job.

2. We didn’t use them for much and now won’t use them for anything. Their choice, my choice.

People can’t provide diapers for their kids but they can somehow afford smokes. I worked for a tobacco company for 20 plus years, we targeted the dumpy part of town. The customer base was loyal...smokes before diapers!

no doubt. But I’m just saying, since the Dems went after CVS, watch dollar stores be next.
