Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) predicts that there will be enough support for immigration reform in a GOP-led Congress.

According to the Associated Press, "Ryan said that as long as Obama doesn't try an executive order in November or December and works with Congress," immigration legislation can be enacted.

A vote for the GOP had better not be a vote for Obama.

“The only immigration reform we need is simply to enforce the immigration laws we now have.”

Pardon me, Mr. Ryan, but you can take your “Constructive Immigration Reform” and go pound sand.

The Republican landslide is not a mandate to import millions of Democrats.

I’ve been reading Free Republic for a long time. This is a very confusing place. Paul Ryan hasn’t changed his tone on this since way before the election. So, this is the confusing part.

Did any of you vote for a democrat in order to not give Paul Ryan the votes necessary to pass what you think he wants to pass?

Or, did you vote for republicans anyhow, knowing that with your vote, Paul Ryan will have the votes necessary to pass what you think he wants to pass?

Did you vote for the republican, knowing it would give Paul Ryan the votes necessary to pass what you think he wants to pass and hoping that the republican you voted for would change his or her mind?

Did you know that Obama has promised to use executive orders to get his way with amnesty?

Did you try to convince other voters to not vote for republicans so that Paul Ryan wouldn’t get the votes necessary to pass what you think he wants passed?

Or, did you try to convince voters to vote for democrats to give Paul Ryan the votes necessary to pass what you think he wants passed?

Which is it?

I’m beginning to think it’s almost all hot air from the GOP and the kenyan on immigration. No big deal or blanket executive order amnesty will happen.

The kenyan will probably end up doing another partial amnesty EO and keep the issue alive. Something like amnesty for “dreamers” relatives only. In response the GOP will of course do nothing.

ok, so you’re telling me that the rinos and dems formed a coalition that fooled everyone? I know that many threads here attack Paul Ryan and other republicans that aren’t well liked, but was there an effort to vote for democrats to keep Ryan from getting his needed votes?

If so, it was invisible.

It does seem like Obama was trying to force the issue. And yes, it is a sort of political football.

I understand that’s the feeling here, but still, did you and others here do your best to convince voters to vote dem so that Ryan doesn’t get his way? Or, were republicans voted in from the voters here so that Ryan would get his way?

I know from reading Free Republic for so long that Paul Ryan isn’t a favorite here. You tried to not get his majority then, right?
