Rev. Jesse Jackson calls for level playing field in Silicon Valley

Civil rights advocate Jesse Jackson brought his campaign for more diversity in Silicon Valley workforces to The Chronicle Editorial Board Wednesday, noting that the racial separation of 50 years ago wasn’t as great as the inequality today.

Just more of that white privilege. Young white kids working hard in school, taking those difficult math and science courses. Graduating with a tech degree. Is just isn't fair.

Well, first Jessah... you got’s to get yo people able to speak English, because language skills/mind development is a known asset for desirable programmers and IT people. It requires higher brain function.... not just skin color as a determinant for shaking down employers.

Yes, hire more room temperature IQ’ers in the name of “diversity”. The less intelligent, non-creative and slacker population is underrepresented in the Silicon Valley work force.

White? Try Asian and White. California’s UC system is primarily Asian students. Why a majority of Asians in California vote DEM is beyond me.

Jesse, Your shake downs may work with beer and car companies, but sometimes knowledge and performance actually matter.

You can’t support dumbing down public education and then expect those kids to execute in the business world.

Level playing field? There’s no level playing field in these professions. You either have the ability or you don’t. There is no affirmative action here. Besides, my son’s hard science courses were filled with Chinese, Indians and other Asians. He was one of twelve caucasians in his class.

If a Black is qualified, they get hired. Talent is highly competitive. It’s as simple as that.
