I don’t get this? He has no such authority.
The President DOES NOT have Dictatorial Powers. There is a process for this.
If this is allowed, then what is to stop him from ANY OTHER THING? Why should he even go through the congress if they refuse to stop him.
We do not elect a Dictator. It’s a complete violation of the U.S. Constitution. No one man is above the law or above the U.S. Constitution.
The Congress should tell him if he overreaches, then they will call for the immediate impeachment and removal from office.
If the Congress allows this, then it will set a new precedent that will allow a Tyrannical government in the near future.
I’m sure Executive Action by a President is meant for times of dire need of national security when Congress is out of session.
The Supreme Court may have to weigh in on this.
So he’d “prefer” that the legislative branch does his bidding, but if they won’t, he’ll just illegally and unconstitutionally take over the responsibilities and powers of the legislative branch. I wish they had the spine to de-fund government agencies from one end to the other. It needs doing anyway.
This is a no brainer. The President does not have the legal authority to grant citizenship to illegal aliens. It does not fall in the scope of Executive Orders.
Giving millions of people citizenship will cost 100’s of millions of dollars. The President has no money. Congress controls the purse strings.
Let Obama use Executive Order, don;t fund it and the take him to court to overturn the unconstitutional action.
Then the first order of business for the new Congress will be impeachment. Lawlessness and usurpation of Congress’s exclusive authority regarding immigration can not and will not be tolerated.
I think he’s trying to provoke the Republicans into impeaching him...with the expectation that it will rally his base.
He has no authority. Any proclamation is without force of law. Any person obeying such illegal proclamation should be arrested and prosecuted.
I even question that....
He just got Routed in an election and now he is going against the Will of the American people.
He DOES NOT get to be Dictator every time congress is on break or not in Washington for whatever reason. LOL! It does not work that way.
The instant he does this he should be placed under arrest.

When the repubs were invited to the white house last Friday they should have just got up and walked out. Why did they bother going anyway, they knew what the ass clown was going to do. Impeach him now, let it be on the senate democrats for obstructing it. People out here in the real America are fed up with these illegal invaders.
What exactly is an "executive action"? I've heard of EO's, Executive Orders where the executive lays down rules for executive agencies to carry out their Article II responsibilities.
Perhaps this is just another angle to an imperial presidency, by changing language and creating a new executive power, executive action, from whole cloth - using EO's as the cover.

Who’s gonna stop him?
IF Obama does this, and Congress does nothing, then the next appropriate step is the use of citizen orce to remove him. I shudder to think of it happening, but Obama is forcing the hands of Americans.
