Owner of Mexican restaurant 'Illegal Pete's' won't change name 'offensive to immigrants' because it memorializes his father who died of cancer
A Mexican restaurant owner says he won't change the name of his establishment some community members find offensive to illegal immigrants.
The restaurant in Denver, Colorado has been named Illegal Pete's for many years and owner Pete Turner says the name wasn't meant to offend and was named after his rambunctious father with whom he shared a name.

I don’t know squat about churches.
I was just in an Episcopal church for the first time ever (memorial service/funeral) and the Reverend and some others walked to the center of the aisle to read a particular prayer thing and then went back to the pulpit or whatever you call it, I found it weird. They also left the doors open during the thing, I was cold.
Just like Sambos restaurant was named after the owners, not the fictional character who was Indian, not black.

Yes, except the restaurant chain used the Little Black Sambo and the Tiger characters as their motif.
Good. Who cares if Illegal aliens are offended? That’s the idea get them to leave.
“among weekly churchgoers, those numbers are even higher. Eighty-two percent of weekly churchgoing evangelicals voted Republican, while seventy percent of the weekly Catholic churchgoers also voted for the GOP candidate.”
half our vote comes “from the churches”. You don’t know squat? the RINOs don’t know squat.
But I treasure my "Beaners" coffee mug.
The new Archbishop of Chi sounds like a pinko, I know that much. Purportedly he discouraged his priests from protesting outside abortion clinics.
I just said a prayer.
Hope you have a conservative bishop who would be willing to help.
thanks.
Archbishop Leonard Blair. Yes, conservative. He is new.
Not sure he can do much ... not sure he is really interested. Ultimately, the parishes have to straighten themselves out with outside assistance.

I hope someone at least made the bishop’s office aware, so IF he can do something, he will try. But it sounds like it’s public enough where he would have heard.
Best of luck to all concerned.
God bless.
no. it is not public.
I do not know anyone that is interested. This is CT. Comatose.
