Harry Reid's dilemma: Side with Republicans or Obama?
Politico ^ | November 10, 2014 | By BURGESS EVERETT

Senate Democrats are split over whether to ram through the White House's stalled nominees.

Reid’s approach would keep the holiday season from ending in a series of bitter midnight sessions and could avoid antagonizing Republicans.

But other Democrats argue Republicans may have little interest in approving the bulk of the president’s nominees regardless of what happens in the next few weeks, so it’s now or never to act on a slate of new judges, ambassadors and perhaps even the confirmation of attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch.

“Let’s clear the decks, unless we can get some agreement with Republicans,” said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.). “We should stay all night and all weekend getting the president’s nominees on the job.”

Added independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont: “We still have the majority. I think we should be as aggressive as we can.”

And does anyone think the Republicans will have this same attitude?

Anyone?

The GOP should shun, mock and ridicule this traitor into obscurity. He deserves no other place than the business side of the firing squad wall.

There. I feel better.

How about an independent prosecutor? My choice would be the IRS. No investigator-no confirmation.

Harry comes up in 2016 for another campaign. I think he’ll be looking at his enthusiasm and pay-back, and he might decide at the end of 2015 to announce that he won’t run. If he does run...he is dependent on the Tea Party crowd running some marginal player that he can trounce on debates.

If there ever was a case for a retired NFL quarterback from the Denver Broncos to move into Nevada...it’s now.

The only difference I see between Sanders and the other rats is that Sanders is a bit more open about being a socialist/communist.

Sanders? Did anyone hear Angus King from Maine on Fox this morning? This moron must be the dumbest body ever sent to the Senate ever. He stated that the video of Obamacare architect wasn’t the whole truth and he was only one person. He also stated that he was unaware of this guy so he wasn’t sure of it’s accuracy. You had to hear the pure ignorance coming form him to believe it.

No, technically he calls himself a socialist. I like him exactly where he is, declaring himself a socialist and caucusing with the Democrats. That's as it should be...

Of course not. They got what they wanted out of the election and can coast for the next two years.

Because he is a self-described member of the Socialist Party. The Dems were too moderate for him, years ago. Things have changed. Propose that the Dems call themselves The Socialist Workers Party.

We really need some kind of law that hampers lame duck Congress from passing anything other than a clean CR.

I’ve previously read that Republicans want Brian Sandoval to run for the Senate in 2016, regardless of what Harry Reid does. If Governor Sandoval does run, Reid may drop out of the running.

Reid and Bennett are our top and only obvious targets.

I’m not resigned to a rat net gain.
