Eau Claire - the liberal “oasis” in the (relatively) conservative sea of western Wisconsin (well, except for LaCrosse).
Diana, I didn’t know if you saw this so I pinged you.
ILLINOIS STATE RIFLE ASSOCIATION
ISRA Message from Executive Director Richard Pearson
When the guns fell silent on November 11, 1918, 96 years ago today, the world was forever changed. The United States had gone from being thought of as a weak second rate power to one of respect that had to be reckoned with. The first World War (WWI) never really ended. WWI was the prelude to World War Two (WWII). Once again the United States was thrust into war, and came out victorious.
What distinguished the American soldier from all others was his dedication, ingenuity, and marksmanship.
In recent years the efforts to degrade the United States Military have caused our soldiers to do more, with less. Unrealistic rules of engagement have made it harder for those to be victorious and in some cases, even survive. Yet our soldiers fought on and when they returned as veterans they rebuilt their lives and contributed to their communities and the nation. The only thing I can say to all those who have served and are still serving now, is we are very proud of you - and thank you!
Walker won BECAUSE people are sick of liberal lowlifes...
Wisconsin school district (Eau Claire) cancels Veteran’s Day commemoration over 21 gun salute (which uses blanks).
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Here’s yet another one...
Progressives are so stupid they are incapable of making the distinction between a principles position and their own, naked cowardice. To them, fear of guns means that it’s axiomatic that guns are bad.
How apropos -- Nomen est Omen
I did some volunteer work one summer, helping a New Jersey school district get some of it’s classrooms repainted in one of its worst schools, in terms of the physical conditions (I know not what academic standing the school had then or has now).
One of the areas being repainted included a hallway used by classes in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Someone decided to have some classic American literature, in the form of poems, written along the hallway in the area between the tops of the doors and the ceiling.
At first everything went fine. Then the principal came by to have a look and help out. After looking at the poems, he said he liked the idea but the text of two of the poems (by Walt Whitman I believe) would have to be changed to edit out references in them to guns.
I was appalled, and told those in charge of the volunteers that I thought changing the words of classic Whitman poems to please any modern sentiments about guns was not an academic exercise but a political one. What got me even madder - and meant I’d never work with that bunch again, was that the leaders of the volunteers agreed with the principal, and apologized for not having thought of changing Whitman’s poem’s themselves. That made them bigger idiots than the principal in my mind. I went to find the principle and rebuke him personally, but he’d already departed.
Well, lets just get rid of the military altogether.
Because the "educators" will not be "worried that some people may feel an uneasiness, oh no.
They will be "feeling" total mindless panic as ISIS, the Chicoms or the Russian army are marching in the street, in front of their schools...
looking for THEM.
