That would have been fine with me. What I wanted and continue to want is for the GOP to win. Once we have the power we have control.
However, I don't hate McConnell as you do. IMO he is far better than someone like McCain as leader. He will be pressed from the right if he needs to be. We are going to see his reputation rise on the right now because now he can actually do stuff.
Then why didn’t you fight to ensure he didn’t get elected? Everyone believed we would get the senate plus a couple. A handful of us pushed people to not send him back. Most screamed send him back no matter what. Fear again won the day. Well, Charlie Sheen’s ‘WINNING! won too I guess.
And he has already proven what his ascension to power means. Affirmed the promise of amnesty, Affirmed giving back Reid the power Reid stripped and reneged on his obamacare promises. He did that within the first 24 hours of the people speaking clearly they wanted none of that. Thats a historical fact now. He did it.

Finally, he is able to demonstrate his importance to the republican party and to the nation.
yea he did real goo caving in and saying there would be no shutdown, taking a lot of negotiating power off the table. I call that shooting oneself in the head not the foot.

I’m another one who doesn’t hate McConnell. I’m optimistic that since we have control of the Senate, he will find his spine - just like the DEMS find hidden boxes of votes when needed. If I’m wrong - then I’ll apologize. Until then - I remain hopeful. I think I might like the new, nasty Mitch. He’s been in Washington a long time and I’m sure he has a few tricks up his sleeve. We’ll see.
Why should I? I don't hate him. And not everyone believed we would get a few extra. Ernst was neck and neck a couple weeks before the election, Nunn was reported as being tied in GA, Roberts was down, who knew about Alaska?
