The White House reached out to left wing reporters at Talking Points Memo to deny Gruber had a role, saying Gruber didn’t “work” at the White House.

In the Frontline interview, Gruber says,

“The next time I see him is summer 2009. The big issue there is that he really wants to make sure I’m moving forward on cost control. I think that at this point he sort of knew we had a good plan on coverage, but he was worried on cost control. So we had a meeting in the Oval Office with several experts, including myself, on what can we do to get credible savings on cost control that the Congressional Budget Office would recognize and score as savings in this law.”

Was Gruber lying? Was he in the Oval Office with the President in the summer of 2009, talking about how to game the CBO numbers?

He was. On July 20, 2009, Jonathan Gruber meets with POTUS in the West Wing. He was there almost four hours.

Obama was at the center of this deception. He specifically ordered Gruber and other “healthcare experts” to find ways to game the CBO numbers so that the bill would pass. In his gleeful showboating over passing the bill, Jonathan Gruber has clearly identified President Obama as the source of the lie behind the Cadillac Tax. The story is no longer about Jonathan Gruber. It’s about the deliberate lie the President used to pass this monstrosity of a healthcare law.

In the above article, Gruber praises Obama for ignoring the election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts, and the anti-Obamacare message that that election sent.

If you remember, we here in Massachusetts voted for Scott Brown who campaigned on being the 41st vote that would deprive the Senate of the 2/3 super majority it needed to pass Obamacare.

After Scott Brown won, the Democrats nullified the votes of the American people and passed Obamacare by way of an abuse of a special budgetary procedure called "reconciliation."

......it seems that some might need a refresher course on the history of Obamacare’s enactment. Reconciliation didn’t play a small role in Obamacare’s passage, as has been suggested. Without reconciliation, Obamacare would not have become law at all. It’s true that the main Obamacare structure was passed by the Senate in December 2009 under normal rules for legislative consideration. That’s because Democrats at that time had 60 votes (including two independent senators who caucus with them). They didn’t need to resort to reconciliation to pass the bill as long as all 60 of their senators stuck together and supported passage, which they did.

But then Scott Brown won the Massachusetts Senate race in January 2010; the Democrats lost their 60-vote supermajority and could no longer close off debate on legislation without the help of at least one Republican senator.

Gruber isn’t the one who lied to the CBO and the American people. He’s the one who crafted the lie. 0bama, Reid, Pelosi and every other Dem pol are the ones who, knowingly, took the lie to the people and submitted the lies to the CBO.

They want to stop insurance companies from providing a so called “Cadillac” plan that is currently being funded by high revenue corporations.

They want a 40% tax on employees that receive these plans.
