The House of Representatives on Friday passed legislation giving the makers of the Keystone pipeline the go-ahead to build the fourth and final section of the oil transportation system.

Republicans have already sanctioned the construction of the XL portion of the pipeline eight times but today it passed language identical to a bill under consideration in the Senate by a vote of 252-161.

The Democratically-controlled upper chamber has long declined to vote on the matter but had a change of heart on Wednesday after Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana begged her colleagues to immediately bring the legislation to the floor.

Yup. Even if he signs it Obama can have the EPA hound it to death with regulations.

Keep them coming.

Some will call it pure theater. So be it. It will be interesting theater until our new Congress is sworn in.

Then it will become reality for the rats as Herr Obozo gets bill after bill to sign as the house stops funding any of his wet dreams.

The vote was 252-161 in favor of Keystone.

Unfortunately, this tells me that if Obama (as expected), vetoes it, there will not be enough votes in the House to override it. We need at least 290 if the whole house (all 435 of them) votes.

Or We’ll need at least 276 if only these 413 WHO VOTED, bother to vote again.

So, nice try, but not even close to have a cigar.

The only interesting part of this is whether the Dems pass it in some futile effort to save Mary Landrieu’s bacon.

Kabuki.

Senate overcomes angst and handwringing and passes the bill.

Zerohissef vetoes the bill.

Landrieu can return to the hustings and claim she courageously stared down Zerohissef and voted for the pipeline to bring more jobs to the great state of Loozyana. But send her back and she will bygawd do NEXT time!

[She loses by 16 in Dec. as the stupid people forget to vote...]

Yup. Even if he signs it Obama can have the EPA hound it to death with regulations.

Depending on when the bill passes, Obama would be able to use a pocket veto and not have to act on it at all. If the bill is passed by the Senate within 10 days before they adjorn the Christmas holidays, Obama could use a pocket veto.

Much ado about nothing.

This is all about giving the pig from Louisiana cover in her bid to retain a Senate seat.

Only if Boehner goes along. The House could refuse to adjourn, and keep a pro forma session going just like they did to prevent Obama's labor board recess appointments.

And now, they have the force of the Supreme Court ruling behind them that the "recess" didn't mean holiday time-off but inter-session breaks.

Bit confused.....I thought that because the US was procrastinating, Canada had agreed to sell it’s oil to China.

If it comes to an override vote, then the America people need to demand that their Dim reps vote for it.

Politicians don;t want to be on the losing side of an issue.

The GOP has to hammer the airwaves with naming the Dems who are preventing 42,000 good jobs and energy independence.

The Dims know 2016 is right around the corner.

The question is whether they want to tie themselves to the sinking SS Obama.

So now let the senate continue the charade, and force Obama to expose the game. Don’t slow down now.
