Jonathan Gruber Made Over $4 Million Pimping Obamacare & Lying to “Stupid” Americans

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber made $4 million pimping Obamacare.

** $400,000 from Health and Human Services ** $1.6 MM from other states, and that’s just four of them. ** Another $2 milion from HHS for other work.

It was a nice gig. The dude made millions because of his central role in lying to get health care passed.

Video surfaced this week of Jonathan Gruber admitting the Obama administration lied to “stupid” Americans in order to get Obamacare passed.

Jonathan Gruber made $400,000 from HHS. He also made an additional $3.6 million for consulting with states. Glenn Kessler at The Washington Post reported:

The passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010 has been lucrative for Gruber and his microsimulation model. All told, he has been hired by at least eight states to provide advice or assist in creating the health-insurance exchanges that are at the heart of the Affordable Care Act: Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Not all of the contracts could be found on public Web sites, but here is a sampling. In some cases, Gruber worked with other consultants, so the fees were shared. These figures also might not represent the final payout, and of course these are gross figures, before expenses. But it’s safe to say that about $400,000 appears to be the standard rate for gaining access to the Gruber Microsimulation Model.

Michigan: $481,050

Minnesota: $329,000

Vermont: $400,000

Wisconsin: $400,000

Gruber has also earned more than $2 million over the last seven years for an ongoing contract with HHS to assess choices made by the elderly in Medicare’s prescription-drug plan.

I wonder who will hire him now though. It seems like no one wants to claim knowing him.
It’s sweet to think the peak of his life is probably very much over now. He’s hated by the democrats for betraying their trust with his big mouth, and he’s barely conservatives favorite guy either.

The deception and arrogance are sincere. It’s okay.

If he was smart enough to bank, or invest, much of that goernment largesse, he should live comfortably for the rest of his life.

I’m assuming that he’s that smart since he thinks the rest of us are stupid.

Funny thing, though. It seems that only the Democrats are that stupid. I don’t know any Republicans who liked (like) any part of his stupid law!

4 Million for lying, condescending and being a pure jackwagon. wait one minute, is there a refund that as taxpayers we can get out money back. this is ludcrious to pay this piece of trash the money he was paid for something based on a lie. Bernie Madoff received lifetime sentence for performing something similar. MIT should fire this piece of trash too. I sent an email to the President of MIT and let him know that too.

If this piece of trash comes to Michigan he shoould be arrested for hoodwinking MI taxpayers of nearly 500K. this bastard needs to go to jail permanently his degree is worthless. Elitist piece of trash.

When we’re all done talking about what an elitist d-bag Gruber is we should start talking about the seditious nature of 0bamaCare and what the Dems did to get it passed. They didn’t just lie about the numbers they lied about how it violates Constitutional principles.

Not so.

He’s tenured at MIT and will have a very nice life in academia.

This is the program he is always touting about research on how improve medical options and tie patient outcomes to money spent.

It's essentially a billion dollar a slush fund to pay off guys like Gruber.

If i made 2 mega bucks from the program, I'd be touting it too.

This guy has made an awful lot of money in a very short period of time working for at least 8 different clients simultaneously while holding down a full time Professorship at MIT.

I think a nice close look at the work performed vs pay might be in order.

I see a false claims act suit here. And that would extend to many more of the consultants who contribute to this debacle.

“...we should start talking about the seditious nature of 0bamaCare and what the Dems did to get it passed.”

What has to happen is that those who did this must PAY for it in serious way. Throwing them out of office is not enough. They need to feel the wrath of the American people.

I found my self sniffing around on the dark side...aaackk. Daily Kos was a tad bit upset with Gruber’s lack of disclosure back in 2010 and he kindly bundled it all up neatly.

Some State at least should be able to prosecute him under criminal fraud charges. If they had any balls.

This SOB was being interviewed left and right as a genius. Now everyone thinks he’s an idiot and a liar.
Yes, he’ll continue his job, but he’ll hold this shame for the rest of his life.

Lots of smart people are not smart enough to save and invest. I know some. They spend it as fast as they get it.

You would think an economist would know better. Hard to say with Gruber. He may have thought the gravy train would last forever.
