Sometimes I really think the rapture has occurred, and I've been left behind. We are in a dark time.
All I can say... God’s attitude about that would be “You think this is dark, you haven’t seen dark yet! Now move out of that shadow!”

I’ve thought about this, too.
Back when I was much younger, I read “The Late Great Planet Earth,” which confidently predicted the return of Christ in 1984, but also had some lurid descriptions of the Rapture.
My reflection now, almost 40 years later, is the lameness of the “Star Trek” style of Lindsay’s depiction, with God using transporter-like omnipotence to whisk away the elect while the other poor slobs have seven very bad years. Maybe it’s because I’m much older, but I’m comfortable with the fact that the 1,600 cubic centimeters of neuronal glop in my skull is a mere speck compared to the greatness and glory of God, and trying to depict something as extraordinary as the Rapture is beyond my ability. Something will happen. It will be divine. And maybe you’re right, and the nature of the Rapture is nothing like anyone expected. There was a human inability to imagine what actually happened with Jesus, so why not with the end of days?
Be well wherever you are, and God bless you.
