the theory goes that milk and calcium intake are extremely important especially for women but it must be done as a young person...once you hit your later 20’s the calcium does not do much good since your bones are pretty much set.....

My mom gets the $1,000 Prolia injections -- supposedly the company has proof fractures are reduced in those with osteoporosis. They do have her take a calcium supplement to replace the calcium that is absorbed into the bones from the blood.

I'm on long-term Prilosec which creates the problem of calcium not being absorbed due to lack of acid. So I take calcium citrate which should be absorbed anyway. But a lot of guesswork here.
