The Depression of Obama

Obama’s frequent vacations and increase in golfing excursions have become bizarre, considering so many continue to struggle economically almost six years into his presidency, and the world is being rocked by an epidemic of Islamic jihadist torture and horrendous murders, moving increasingly closer to our shores. Few Americans can afford to take vacations - if they actually have a job that is full time and gives them the ability to take a vacation - yet Obama continues to take exotic trips around the world with his wife and kids. Both Republican Presidents Bush never engaged in lavish family trips to the extent Obama has.

Obamacare, the signature of his presidency, has been a failure. As a result of it and other Democrat disasters during his tenure, Democrats took a historical, crushing defeat during this year’s midterm elections, which went well beyond typical midterm setbacks. In addition to taking back the U.S. Senate, Republicans now control 68 of 98 partisan state legislatures, the highest ever in the party's history.

Oddly, many conservatives are afraid to point out the obvious - that Obama is in over his head and depressed. Gawker reported in 2011, “There are people at the[New York] Times who, based on the paper's reporting, believe Obama is depressed - the kind of depression where, if he weren't the president of the United States, he wouldn't be getting out of bed in the morning.” Although multiple media outlets wrote at the time that the Timeswas coming out with an article about Obama’s depression, nothing ever materialized, fueling speculation that the White House put pressure on the Gray Lady to kill it.

Tellingly, even the satire website, The Onion, ran a video about Obama’s depression, which said, “White House officials admit Obama's extreme confidence and total euphoria over ‘hope’ and ‘change’ were symptoms of a prolonged manic episode.”

Yahoo News, no conservative news site, listed several signs that Obama is depressed in an article last year. Besides the Obamacare disaster, Yahoo contributor David Schribman listed as reasons the surveillance debacle, which has Americans all across the political spectrum alarmed, massive opposition to immigration reform, and Israel’s increasing dislike of Obama. Schribman compared Obama’s implosion to former president John F. Kennedy, pointing out, “Today almost everyone acknowledges that the 35th president was breathtakingly unprepared for the White House.”

Like Obama, Kennedy was propelled to the White House based less upon his ability than factors like his looks and charisma. Obama comes from a privileged background; he attended a private high school in Hawaii which cost more in tuition than many universities. He is used to smoking pot, cigarettes and drinking alcohol whenever he feels like it.

As president, he no longer has that freedom. Every move he makes is watched by the Secret Service and the media. He can’t get high anytime, since there are always important meetings, speeches and phone calls.

Obama is used to being fawned over and having things easily handed to him. As an attractive, leftist-black man in politics, people have always been eager to help him succeed. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize immediately after entering office, even though he hadn’t yet done anything. Now, as president, he is exposed to everyone and their opinions around the country, not just syncophants. He never built up the stamina and drive to get to the demanding, intense level where he’s at, so he does not have the psychological preparedness to deal with it.

D.C. insider Wayne Madsen reported that Obama is a narcissist who spends hours googling himself, getting very upset and swearing when he finds negative news articles. In fact, Madsen believes Obama is so angry at his reporting that he wants him dead. Obama’s handlers have figured out that it’s best to keep him on the campaign trail as much as possible, where “he is the focus of adulation by swooning crowds,” Madsen writes. “Some White House officials have expressed fear to Democratic Party officials and elected Democratic office holders around the nation that Obama is on the verge of a mental breakdown.”

A few less prominent websites also report similarly disturbing things about Obama’s signs of depression, although the veracity of these reports cannot be easily verified. This site claims to have interviewed a White House insider who worked with Obama and observed his depression.

As a depressed president with little energy left to help Democrats, he may be doing more harm than good for their agenda the last couple of years he’s in office. On the other hand, as Glenn Beck observed recently, Obama may use the now Republican-controlled Senate as an excuse to justify ramming unpopular measures through such as amnesty using executive orders.

Whether Obama’s implements his radical agenda now through executive orders because he’s depressed about his legacy, or because he is a radical leftist, ultimately doesn’t matter. These drastic actions must be stopped before he can do massive damage to the country. It may come down to the Supreme Court as the only entity capable of striking them down. Let’s keep his legacy as the golfer of the one percent.

Everything odumbo has attempted has been a failure.

It can get very scary from this point.

That money quote just screams Article 25 to me. And if you were a true-believer Marxist like zero is, you might want to staunch the bleeding to your cause by martyring yourself, politically.

And he knows his RAT machine is thinking, if not yet saying, JUMP! JUMP!

I read a lot. I am no scholar. But Obama's behavior reminds me a lot of the behavior of Adolf Hitler in his last weeks.

But the important part of Hitler's behavior of those weeks--if he did indeed die in the bunker of a gunshot wound to the head as he bit down on a cyanide capsule made of glass--was that he was clearly a raving lunatic, holding out hope that military armies that no longer existed were going to save him. When the Waffen Adolf Hitler was being slaughtered, the report says, he lightened up, smiled and said, "Well, you can never have too many casualties."

He continued to blame others, and never himself. In his political will, he makes the specific point that the German people did not have the character or strength to save themselves. That, he said, was the fault of the Volks, who failed to follow his doctrines of racial purity.

But even more disturbing, is the behavior of General Jack D. Ripper, commanding officer of Burpleson Air Force Base. His concern was not that he was commanding American airmen who were dying at the gates and perimeter of Burpleson at his command, to protect him, but because they did not respect or attempt to keep pure "our precious bodily fluids." It is the story of Dr. Strangelove, (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb."

The behavior of both of these characters, one real and one fictional, remind me daily of the current state of Barack Obama.

In the wake of Obama's dismal performance in his first debate with Mitt Romney in October 2012, I wrote the following reply which takes the opposite tack from this author and speculates that Obama's wretched performance in the debate was a result of drugs.

His subsequent recovery in the next two debates seem to put the matter to rest. Now we read a theory that his aberrant behavior is the result of depression. There is nothing that would prevent Obama from suffering from depression and over medicating himself with antidepressants which would amount to a mental state which could be quite subdued if not depressed.

For what it's worth here is that reply:

As a matter of speculation we ought to consider that a narcissistic personality is particularly vulnerable to drug abuse. Further, a drug abuser invariably exhibits symptoms of narcissism.

I speculate that a narcissist is especially liable to latch onto a political philosophy and never deviate from it despite objective evidence that it leads to failure. Perhaps the most notorious example of this psychological characteristic in history is Adolf Hitler. One remembers Churchill's description of Hitler in The Gathering Storm:

… into that void after a pause there strode a maniac of ferocious genius, the repository and expression of the most virulent hatreds that have corroded the human breast-Corporal Hitler.

If Obama is a narcissist and he was fed Marxism with mother's milk, it would not be surprising that we see a president who simply cannot abandon his worldview even after the election debacle of 2010. We all laugh at Hitler as a carpet chewer but in the course of the war as the failures of his policies became more and more blatant, he persisted all the more in them to the destruction of the Reich. No one would deny that Bill Clinton has elements of narcissism about him, but even he was able to change course after his midterm election repudiation, perhaps because Bill Clinton never had a real commitment to any philosophy other than Bill Clinton.

It is conceivable that we have as president of the United States a narcissist who is a drug addict and, as a result, is incapable of governing except as a Marxist. His performance during the debate presented a syndrome of symptoms consistent with drug abuse as has his inattention to his duties in the course of his administration. It is unnecessary here to support the argument that Obama is a Marxist. It is clear that he cannot deviate from his beliefs nor can he compromise with Congress. Is it because he makes calculated political decisions or because he is psychologically driven? Marxism and narcissism are dangerous combinations but when one adds a mind made chemically toxic by drug abuse (as was Hitler's in the end), we have a dangerous situation liable to go out of control. All this in a man with his finger but inches from the red button.

Hitler was willing to sacrifice the entire nation to his narcissism, in fact, he invited the physical destruction of the country when its impending defeat proved unworthy of himself. If Obama needs an October Surprise to win this election and it involves making war who can believe that a man in such a beleaguered condition would hesitate to sacrifice lives or even risk the country for his selfish profit?

Really?! Ever take a look at the Pesident’s Official Daily Schedule? The man doesn’t start his day until 11 AM. Seems like an acute work-allergy if you ask me.

Narcissism becomes particularly “malignant” (i.e. malevolent, dangerous, harmful, incurable) when it goes beyond mere vanity and excessive self-focus. Malignant narcissists not only see themselves as superior to others but believe in their superiority to the degree that they view others as relatively worthless, expendable, and justifiably exploitable. This type of narcissism is a defining characteristic of psychopathy/sociopathy and is rooted in an individual’s deficient capacity for empathy. It’s almost impossible for a person with such shallow feelings and such haughtiness to really care about others or to form a conscience with any of the qualities we typically associate with a humane attitude, which is why most researchers and thinkers on the topic of psychopathy think of psychopaths as individuals without a conscience altogether. http://www.manipulative-people.com/malignant-narcissism/

And if that isn’t enough to keep you awake at night, consider this: A Rare and Potentially Dangerous Personality Disorder http://www.manipulative-people.com/a-rare-but-potentially-dangerous-personality-disorder/

Let's exploit the fact that he hates his job.

Defund his golf outings and his vacations -- AND his wife's and his kids petty cash for travel and shopping.

Essentially chain him to the 24/7 fishbowl at the White House.

Force him to have to share the same space with Michelle Obama without a break for the next 2 years.

He'll hate it. He'll go stir crazy.

And with all the toys taken away ... he might just resign!

FReegards!

Time for Herr Obozo to smoke a little more weed and take whatever he takes for depression.

Remember when he said he didn't know Herr Gruber. He was Grubering. This picture says he was Grubering about not knowing his buddy Gruber. This is a picture of the two Grubering Gruber/Obozo Care in the outhouse.

Narcissist, sure, but I doubt he has to google very much to find articles about himself.

In fact, Madsen believes Obama is so angry at his reporting that he wants him dead.

Um, who's the narcissist now?

I think it's more a combination of being disengaged and sporadically irate, rather than being low or blue or in a funk.

Obama depressed stories (some from Wayne Madsen) come out every year. It could be a seasonal thing, but I suspect he's just given up caring and projects his frustrations outward in occasional blow-ups.

Whether President Obama chooses to focus on his problems (and the country's) or not, he'll always find somebody else to blame, so there's not much room for depression in his life.
