A lot of these cases are well past the statute of limitations.

So? A woman who has been raped has to live with it the rest of her life, whether the man is prosecuted or not. Bill Cosby has had a reputation that up until now has been rock-solid. No one likely felt they would be believed in the past. It would be easier to expose it when other women are doing the same (safety in numbers).

It’s a moral wrong, but if it is no longer a legally actionable thing, it would take a constitutional amendment removing the no ex post facto law provision. Rotsa ruck doing that. Sometimes we have to face reality.

There’s a fallacy here strictly speaking. Conventional psychospeak is that “nobody gets over a rape [child abuse, spousal beating you name it].”

This really isn’t true. Earthly revenges indeed generally fall short of resolving such things. It needs a true act of God, and God might or might not punish the offender in the offendee’s view.
