GOP Strategy to Stop Obama’s Executive Amnesty Emerging
Breitbart ^ | 17 Nov 2014 | Matthew Boyle

A clearer picture of the strategy Republicans in both the House and the Senate will use to stop President Barack Obama’s planned executive amnesty in government funding bills is beginning to emerge.

The key point is that no matter what package emerges, there seems to be a consensus emerging among Republicans on Capitol Hill: There will be no funding for Obama’s planned executive amnesty. There’s a number of different ways that can happen.

First, there could be a short-term Continuing Resolution passed that funds all of government from Dec. 11—when current funding measures end—until shortly after the newly-elect Senate GOP majority takes office in early 2015. At that point, the Senate and House Republicans would block Obama’s planned immigration executive order in some fashion—either in a bill that funds all of the rest of government except for that or by splitting various Appropriations bills into different packages that separates funding the Department of Homeland Security out from the rest of government.

Another possibility is that there may be some kind of effort to cut the funding for Obama’s planned executive amnesty in the lame duck session of Congress now, but that effort would likely be thwarted as one of the last acts of outgoing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Since when has lack of money in the budget prevented the government from spending money they want to spend?

When you announce something on a Friday, you are trying to avoid it getting noticed by people. The press will just play along and bury it on the back page of the business section on Saturday. Same with the networks.

Call both of your senators and your representative. Let them know you’re opposed to Obama’s reckless use of executive power.

Our newly elected RINO has, already come out in favor of a new guest worker program for agriculture. Like we don’t already have 10 of thousands of Mexicans in Washington state to pick fruit.

How do the Republicans defund not enforcing immigration deportation law? Do we have to pay people to not do something therefore if funding is held back they’ll have to deport them?

Defunding is a joke. The President can just ignore this attempt and use other funds to pay for the amnesty. There is no way this can be stopped or even slow it down.

I hate to be the one to tell folks this..., but a comprehensive immigration reform bill will take place, even if the Republicans do block Obama’s plans.

Look back at when Obamacare was implemented. Note that the Republicans didn’t repudiate the idea outright. They just wanted to pass a ‘good plan’ not his.

That’s what we’re talking about here as well. It galls everyone that Obama is about to act unilaterally, but the truth is, the Republican leadership is only interested in blocking Obama’s plan. They want to implement their own plan.

This being the case, it’s just laughable the puffed up chests of the GOPe on this. It’s all a dog n pony show. It’s smoke an mirrors of the worst variety.

Our majority in both bodies of Congress would give Obama just what he wanted by mid 2015.

At least if he does it, they think they’ll be absolved. And that’s all that is on their minds. To hell with the Republic. As long as the GOPe can can absolve itself, that’s all that matters to it.

I fear I must agree with you.

I am really beginning to believe that the government is in such a tangled up mess...there is no way to untangle it. My optimism is really low.
