Rep. Michele Bachmann warned that the immigrants about to be amnestied have high illiteracy rates and may vote. The left howled, but the reality is she understated it. The hard data tell the story.
Commenting on President Obama's amnesty of 5 million illegals, the Minnesota Republican told reporters at the Capitol, "The social cost will be profound on the U.S. taxpayer — millions of unskilled, illiterate, foreign nationals coming to the United States who can't speak the English language."
She added that many will vote illegally, too.
An outraged, politically correct reporter from the Washington Post then asked Bachmann just what she meant by "illiterate," according to a report in Politico.
Bachmann cited the firsthand information she had gathered from U.S. citizens on the front lines of the immigration surge and those inside Latin American countries she's visited, in what was a heck of a lot more homework than the reporters would ever do.
She was on hard factual ground: According to the CIA World Factbook, illiteracy in Guatemala, a top supplier of illegals, stands at 24.1%. In El Salvador it's 15.5%, in Honduras it's 14.9% and in Mexico 6.5%.
As a corollary indicator, note that these countries' governments spend very little on their nationals' education as a percent of their GDP. In Guatemala it's 3%, El Salvador 3.4%, and Mexico 5.1%.
Don't imagine those are the only ills that plague these amnesty beneficiary nations.
Latin America is also tops globally in teen pregnancy, with some 30% of teenagers age 15 to 19 pregnant, the majority "underprivileged" and without husbands, "which fosters the reproduction of poverty," according to a study by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) released just last week.

I read a highly technical piece awhile back that mentioned that each birth certificate could actually be considered an ‘instrument’ that the govt can trade and leverage.. almost like each citizen is considered a ‘corporation’.
Talk about adding millions of new ‘businesses’ that the govt can leverage !
Make them legal so they can be enslaved to the corporation too in essence.
I wonder if an illegal can ‘legally’ drive on the roads in the US without a license unliks the rest of us..
If they are ‘sovereign’ in a sense, they could get away with lots of stuff the rest of the citizenry cannot.. that goes bye bye when they get incorporated ‘like the rest of us’
Again, that was the premise of the article...but I am no lawyer... I think air saw something on it when there was a man calling himself sovereign or a ‘natural man’ in a court some months(maybe years) ago and saying he was not subject to american law..

"Congress has a responsibility to uphold the laws of the land as well, and we can defund this president's illegal amnesty. That's what we must do. We can't do it alone. We can't do it alone. We need your viewers."
(A) Congress will be back December 1st through December 11th. This will be decided in that period of time. We need to have your viewers melt the phone lines. Congress isn't here, they're gone from Washington tonight, but from December 1st to the 11th we need them to melt the phone lines and say 'defund amnesty.'
(B) We need Americans to go to Senators' and Congressman's office. I'm calling on your viewers to come to DC on Wednesday, December 3rd at high noon on the west steps of the Capitol to rally, and to go Senators and Congressmen because nothing frightens a congressman like the whites of his constituents' eyes" she said.
Bachmann added, "when I was watching this speech, I felt like I was watching Jonathan Gruber---because all I heard was contempt for the American people--- as though Obama thought we were so stupid, that somehow he could say that his illegal actions were legal and we would all turn over, roll over, and believe it."
