'We Will Not Engage': Michele Bachmann Reveals GOP Plans to Ignore Executive Amnesty

Breitbart News Executive Chairman Steven K. Bannon asked the congresswoman, who was a guest on Breitbart News Saturday Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, “Has there been any firm commitment from the leadership of the Republican party saying that this amnesty is not going to happen?” Bachmann replied with a question, “Do you want the truth? Okay, I’ll tell all of Breitbart listeners what happened this week. I was floored!”

In the weekly meeting called “Republican Conference” in the House of Representatives, “we all knew that the big issue for the week was going to be the president announcing his amnesty,” she explained. Bachmann recounted that all of the leadership went to the microphone, including John Boehner.

“They acted as though the amnesty issue wasn’t even an issue. They said that the President is going to do what he’s going to do, and we are not going to get down in the mud with him. We are not going to engage, and what we are going to do is to talk about our positive solutions on jobs, the economy, education, and manufacturing,” Bachmann said.

She added that each congressman who spoke reiterated that not engaging Obama and staying positive was a “brilliant strategy.”

"We will not engage," she reiterated with disgust.

Some estimates have the number upward of 70 million illegals.

Keeping the border open is NOT going to reduce the number.

Creating another amnesty is only going to encourage the next groups who will rush across the border in anticipation of another amnesty in a half-decade or so.

==

Every time even the talk of a new amnesty is spoken in Washington, we have an increase in the number of illegals.

==

Solution(s)? Politicians with backbone. Otherwise, learn Spanish.

...

Exactly. Obama is giving the GOPe the amnesty they always wanted. Any public opposition is nothing but meaningless theater.

“I think the best way to P#ss off a narcissist is to ignore them.”

Not when it gives them their way. Which it will in this case.

Actually, the best way to anger a narcissist is to disagree with them. (If ignoring them does that, then the effect will be the same.)

"Too bad the republicans don’t care about being in the majority"

Actually, they aren't the majority until January. That's part of the problem. Everything they try can either be thwarted by Harry Reid, or vetoed by emperor Obama. Unless they want to go through the courts and that'll take longer than waiting until January. Shutting down the government with a vetoed CR will just get blamed on them, so for now they just end up looking like asshats.

As of yet I cannot find it in the Federal Register either so no EO, no EO number. Everybody on our side is in a twitter over what known liar’s says it does. Agreed, people are being played

So then Obama doesn't do an EO and instead does an "Executive Action". Who is being played?

Just like Obamacare is imploding, the “Obama” political ploy on immigration will also fail miserably...across the board.

...

Neither will fail because the GOPe agrees with policies behind closed doors.

I’m not even sure President Cruz could fix it. He’ll still have to deal with the creeps in the GOP Ruling Class just as Reagan had to do.

Johnny

You are absolutely right.

People are running around on our side screaming do something! But do something to what?

As long as there is no EO there is no Cause of Action, so Congress, Governors or anyone can’t do anything because it does not in fact exist.

While of course EO’s can be secret you would think with the way Obama is flapping his gums about this one it would not be.

We are being played.

Enforce the laws about hiring illegals over Americans. Quit the free handouts to them.

Most will then self-deport.

It happened when Oklahoma passed a bill doing exactly that. The illegals scattered to surrounding states. If the whole country did this, it would work on a national level.

A few brave leaders could sure get me on the road to D.C. But a few LEADERS are needed. Go to congress and tell boner and company they can go home, they can go to hell but they can’t stay here.

It’s going to be up to the states. That means we must have governors who will threaten to leave. I believe Abbott would have enough of a majority in the legislature to back him.

This just plays into the GOP plan to somehow get amnesty. Now they think they won’t have to take the heat from their base. I predict that instead of 3 million republicans sitting home in 2016 6 million will sit home.

Congress can sue in SCOTUS.

But I want Keystone passed, repatriation of foreign corporate profits, cuts
in waste, and of course the defunding of parts of Obamacare, and this Amnesty.

I think an accelerated building of the border fence is a must, since Obama openned the flood gates. Build the fence now before the illegals can get across the border.

The GOP have a wedge issue, lots of blacks don’t like 5,000,000 new job seekers while they can’t get a job. Not only is black unemployment the highest, but their incomes are down $5k per year.

Black vote for Obama and then he has stabbed them in the back.

Blacks need 5 million jobs not 5 million illegals more to depress wages.

Time the GOP play for the black vote and capitalize on this disatisfaction.

This actually IS a brilliant strategy. Simply ignore President StompyFoot. Do not allow his insane blatherings to take effect. The Republican states can simply ignore his directives and deny his actions.

What EO? There was never an immigration EO. Obama just played a lot of people.

You are correct.

I know. While we hold our fire and play “deep strategy”, the illegals will be overrunning the country, the welfare rolls, and the polls. Then what? While we played “three dimensional chess”, they will be here to stay. I’d like to know of one instance of anything the rats have enacted which has been overturned, from the “temporary income tax” Wilson enacted in WWI, to Roe v Wade, to CommieCare, to eternally expanding welfare, and now to millions more illegals being given all they need to take root in this country forever.
