Just found a Michael E. Dyson in Fairfax Station, VA, at about the right age. There are tonier places, but it’s really not the cheap seats. Many houses need an acre or two to look right. Like I say, not Upperville, but it’s not SE DC.

I wish Rootie would get involved more. For one thing, he straightened up NYC beyond what could have been hoped for, imo. After Dinkins showed himself to be a total incompetent, it was doubtful anyone could bring the City back.

We need him now. Somewhere, at some level.

Exactly.
Fewer murders and violent crime or crime of no violence means fewer police needed.

Police are not the cause of crime, however some do things outside their oath and should be treated under the law accordingly, they typically respond after the crime is committed.

The criminals are the cause and until the civil conduct within any given community demand that the police presents this will just continue. And many want it to continue from their greed..

They are politicians and often fall back to reverend for expediency and quasi legitimacy.

and get off that slavery argument lumping all whites as plantation owners. The 1860 Census clearly states slave owners were only 1.6% of the population.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani... confronted Dyson over the fact that blacks don't have mass protests when blacks kill other blacks. "But the fact is, I find it very disappointing that you're not discussing the fact that 93% of blacks in America are killed by other blacks,"
...and that isn't even counting the percentage killed by black cops.

Giuliani has a lot of flaws and some wrong-headed ideas, but God bless him forever for single handedly saving NYC, my beloved home town.

And yeah, clearly he was right in what he said on this show. And it’s not all gang bangers killing gang bangers, sometimes old people, women and little children are killed.

But hey, if a white guy (or white-fill-in-the-blank guy) didn’t do it NO ONE CARES.

That really shows how demented things have become in the black community.

If a black officer had killed Brown, the theme then switches from racism to police brutality. The problem is violent black males. The problem is not the people who have to confront them.

As for police departments not looking like the cities they represent, part of the problem is that when blacks take the police test, they do not score high enough on the exam to be hired without affirmative action being implemented. They also tend to have criminal records and fail drug tests more than white applicants.

Consider also the hell that black cops go through in those neighborhoods. Black people in the worst neighborhoods who are somewhat resigned to white cops can still go off big time when dealing with a black cop. Black cops are called, at best, "Uncle Tom" or "sellout," and it isn't just the thugs who call them that, but even some of the good people. I would guess that, for obvious cultural reasons, few black people want to be cops, and those that embrace that career anyhow can generally get jobs in better areas than Ferguson.

“This is a defense mechanism of white supremacy at work in your mind, sir,” Dyson shot back at the end of the argument.

“And YOU are a hypocrite honky hating bigot!” Would have been my rejoinder. It's time we started telling these vicious name-callers the TRUTH.

Your comment is an important one, because it points out succinctly that there’s a subset of blacks that are ghetto blacks. But we need to remember that there are plenty who fall outside that subset.

In my office in Southern California I have some black coworkers and they’re definitely not the grievance-based and hate-based types that we see in inner cities. They’re good people who work just as hard as anyone else in the office and definitely don’t deserve to be lumped in with the “ghetto” subset.

The problem isn’t in the melanin content of the individuals, but in the content of their minds. Hateful thoughts - whether truthful or not - will manifest in a pervasive unhappiness that’ll consume everything else and turn that life to anger, resentment and bitterness, which will be passed on to subsequent generations, thereby perpetuating the cycle that we’re seeing. It can only be fixed from within. External forces cannot repair the problem, but external forces can remove or eliminate the problem. It remains to be seen how this plays out and Ferguson may be the jumping off point for the larger issue.

For the first time in decades, people felt safer when riding the subway or when sitting in a vehicle at a traffic light and not getting shaken down by ‘squeegie men’.

I watched where Guiliani did a Meet the Press type of TV show with a Broken Windows theme. He was asked about how they were able to get rid of those "squeegie guys" (SGs) so quickly after everyone was told "There's just too many of them, you'll have to learn to live with them".

He said they talked to the beat cops on how to handle them and were told that most, if not all, of the SGs had outstanding warrants and if the street cops had them, they'd run the SGs in.

Guiliani and crew went to where the warrants were issued and were told that they were so snowed under, they couldn't be bothered with small potato warrants. Guiliani told them to do it for a month and if it didn't work out, he let up on them.

Warrants were issued, the cops went after the SGs, and overnight they evaporated. When the smoke cleared, the total was something like 60 guys instead of the "so many" the liberals used as an alibi for inaction.

Guiliani also mentioned that when they concentrated on arresting those who committed the petty crimes like public urination ot subway turnstile jumping, they found that the same guys were committing the bigger crimes as well.

That will be the best thing about the next R president. Do you think he’d do it?

We are not allowed to mention that 93%, we’d rather discuss the 2% or so who are the black thugs killed by police of any color. Scream and moan all you want in Chicago where the blacks kill each other just because. I couldn’t believe the most powerful man in the world, the president, involving himself in what appears to me to be a just killing of a black by a white police officer who was acting in very apparent self defense....PATHETIC

No. The next gop loser will be another moderate/liberal.

I’m looking for some one to vote for who won’t insult my beliefs. Even if Cruz isn’t nominated I can write him in or go third party

Yeah, I worked w/ one that was just 'one of us', treated exactly the same, socially also.
Boy was I surprised when the OJ verdict was announced and his true inner feelings rolled out.
Changed my entire prespective on race reltions.

I grew up in the Bronx. My old neighborhood was predominantly white. I mean, like 95% white. There was minimal crime. Everyone knew their neighbors and watched out for each other. There was even a neighborhood watch. Mostly Irish, a little Jewish and a little other western European. In a five year period that started in the mid 1970s, as more and more landlords began renting to Section 8 tenants and others on welfare, the neighborhood rapidly changed for the worse. The crime was rampant, and whites were moving to the suburbs in droves. There were constant muggings, burglaries, car thefts, vandalism, graffiti, littering, and then the drugs started coming in. The area went to shit overnight. My home had gone from working middle class comprised of cops, firefighters, teachers, civil servants, and small business owners to entitlement recipients. The final straw was when my own grandfather had one of Obama’s sons put a gun to his head and demand whatever money he had on him—a whopping $10. What kind of animal puts a gun to the head of an elderly man who wore a hat and handkerchief and who went to mass every day of his life? Cops were very sympathetic to the working folks who were crime victims then. Even judges were harsh on distributing sentences to those animals who were caught mugging and assaulting the elderly.

I left there a long time ago. To this day, I run into liberals who think I am an intolerant racist because I tell them about my old neighborhood and I refuse to accept that what happened to my grandfather was nothing other than evil and unforgivable. I do not care what they think.

When 5% of the population commits over 50% of the homicides ..

If blacks make up 12% of the population, about half of those are female, and some are small children, middle-aged and older people who don’t commit as many crimes.

So what percentage of the population is black males aged, say, 15-40?
