'We Will Not Engage': Michele Bachmann Reveals GOP Plans to Ignore Executive Amnesty
Breitbart ^ | Nov 22, 2104 | Robert Wilde

Posted on 11/23/2014 1:56:24 PM PST by Ray76

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) revealed on Saturday that Republican leadership, led by Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Oh), has no intention of resisting President Obama’s executive amnesty that he ordered on Thursday.

“They acted as though the amnesty issue wasn’t even an issue. They said that the President is going to do what he’s going to do, and we are not going to get down in the mud with him. We are not going to engage, and what we are going to do is to talk about our positive solutions on jobs, the economy, education, and manufacturing,” Bachmann said.

Come on! They have to have a positive solution on jobs so that more American citizens can work to pay for more of Mexico’s citizens.

Either way it’s illegal action so give it a rest.

Nope, nothing unlawful was in the memos.

And why would I give it a rest when people are wanting to base their actions on mis-information? Good info and fact checking are required to make good decisions.

He did manage to stampede a bunch of folks over an EO that never existed. Maybe they will demand that the House pass legislation that he likes. He's already said he wants that.

Why would he care about legislation from the House if he could write an EO?

The memos seem to say he is looking for recommendations from the departmens in 6 months and then it seems he will take those recommendations and decide what to do. Did I get that right? Would the executive orders be issued after the recommendations are provided?

One of them forms a task force, as well.

As far as EOs being issued after the recommendations? Do I look like a soothsayer? Dammit, I'm a cook, man.

Fortune Teller?

Why bother?

No GOP 2016 candidate has made a serious response to Obama’s “threat” because every last one of them supports some form of Amnesty.

As to “something that hasn't happened,” are you kidding me?

Obama completely stopped enforcing immigration law years ago.

He signed the DREAM Act EO and another EO for illegals who “provide essential support” to their legal family members or to elderly or infirm Americans.

That's 2 million illegals EO’ed right there.

The GOP leadership essentially said and did nothing about those EO’s, because that's what they want anyway.

Deportations from the interior USA have essentially dropped to zero.

Employer inspections are essentially zero.

Almost all illegals who have committed non-violent crimes - drunk driving, ID fraud, EITC fraud, Food Stamp fraud, sex with minors - are still wandering around America, free on appeal, or, more likely, ignoring their court dates.

75% of the “children” who crossed the border have missed their initial court date.

Deportation for criminal convictions takes place only for the most heinous crimes.

Obama has created “de facto” Amnesty already, and he's done it with the silent support of the GOP leadership and RINO’s everywhere.

There is no such thing as the "Dream Act". There have bills so named but none of them has become law.

Undeterred, Obama implemented in 2012 via the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" program (DACA) many features of the failed bills.

Guidelines  You may request DACA if you:

  1. Were under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012;
  2. Came to the United States before reaching your 16th birthday;
  3. Have continuously resided in the United States since June 15, 2007, up to the present time;
  4. Were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012, and at the time of making your request for consideration of deferred action with USCIS;
  5. Had no lawful status on June 15, 2012;
  6. Are currently in school, have graduated or obtained a certificate of completion from high school, have obtained a general education development (GED) certificate, or are an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States; and
  7. Have not been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor,or three or more other misdemeanors, and do not otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety.
Republicans complained that this was an abuse of Executive power.

On Nov 20, 2014 Obama issued a document titled "FACT SHEET: Immigration Accountability Executive Action" in which it is announced:

Expanding DACA to cover additional DREAMers. Under the initial DACA program, young people who had been in the U.S. for at least five years, came as children, and met specific education and public safety criteria were eligible for temporary relief from deportation so long as they were born after 1981 and entered the country before June 15, 2007. DHS is expanding DACA so that individuals who were brought to this country as children can apply if they entered before January 1, 2010, regardless of how old they are today. Going forward, DACA relief will also be granted for three years.
Both the original DACA program as well as the Nov 20, 2014 memo violate the law, for example: 8 USC § 1182(6)(A)(i)

As before, Republicans complained about abuse of Executive power... then promptly went on vacation.

Obama has given to Executive departments orders which violate law. The U.S. Constitution’s structure is for Congress to legislate and the executive branch to implement legislation. Obama's actions have the effect of legislating in place of Congress.

Here are some provisions of one of the failed "Dream Acts", S. 3992 (DREAM Act of 2010)

Authorizes the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) to cancel the removal of, and adjust to conditional nonimmigrant status, an alien who:
(1) entered the United States before his or her 16th birthday and has been present in the United States for at least five years immediately preceding this Act's enactment;

(2) is a person of good moral character;

(3) is not inadmissible or deportable under specified grounds of the Immigration and Nationality Act;

(4) has not participated in the persecution of any person on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion;

(5) has not been convicted of certain offenses under federal or state law;

(6) has been admitted to an institution of higher education (IHE) or has earned a high school diploma or general education development certificate in the United States;

(7) has never been under a final order of exclusion, deportation, or removal unless the alien has remained in the United States under color of law after such order's issuance, or received the order before attaining the age of 16; and

(8) was under age 30 on the date of this Act's enactment.

Authorizes the Secretary to waive specified grounds of inadmissibility or deportability for humanitarian, family unity, or public interest purposes.
Entered prior to 16 years old, have been here 5 years, in school, etc. Sound familiar?

And when Congress decides the mode of ratification shall be by state convention, and then stacks that convention with party operatives?

I understand the mechanism, but doubt it can be safeguarded from the evil of the Uniparty swine. I hope it can be, but have not seen how.

The party(”parties”) are the problem. They must be destroyed. The only possible hope would be to determine beforehand unalterably who state convention delegates would be if there were to be a state convention... even then I am wary. These people are snakes. They must be destroyed, institutionally and individually.

The ID “documents” are the problem, as Sessions pointed out. The memoranda created the Task Force, and the Task Force will recommend the ID “documents.”

The EO ordering the “Dream Act” and then its changes, on the other hand, are illegal. They could not get the “Dream Act” through a Democratic-controlled, lame-duck Congress in December 2010, despite all the marches and pity fests, so it had to be done illegally.

It galls me how they take everything nice (Bush’s remark about the “sueno americano,” the American dream) and turn it into something vile. “My brother’s keeper,” which should apply to everyone, is now only for people of a certain age, gender, and color, the street meaning of “brother” maybe but not the classic meaning, as in brotherhood etc.
