NEW YORK Sen. Ted Cruz is in a crowded ballroom full of Zionists this Sunday evening, headlining an annual Zionist Organization of America dinner.
Standing with Israel and strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance is critical for our nation and has been a key priority from the very first day I arrived in the US Senate, he said at a VIP reception beforehand.
The threats to Israel right now have never been greater, and now is a time when we do not need leaders who simply speak empty words of support for Israel, he said in a well-received speech. We need leaders who will stand and act. Now, more than ever, is a time to strengthen the unshakable alliance and friendship America has with the nation of Israel.
Cruz was introduced by an old friend and law professor, Alan Dershowitz. Cruz, as conservative as Dershowitz is liberal, was one of his star pupils at Harvard Law School.
Dershowitz called him a man of principle, a man of high intelligence, a man of determination, and one of Israels strongest supporters in the United States Senate.
Beforehand, he explained their friendship.
The American way is to cross over the aisle and try to accommodate, the professor said. I like Ted very much as a person. I liked him very much as an intellect, as a student. His views on Israel. We agree to disagree on a range of issues.
His participation, he said, was a way to show solidarity in the pro-Israel community, regardless of domestic political differences....

If Dershowitz is an “honest liberal” then OJ must’ve been innocent after all. Otherwise it would have been his duty to resign from the “dream team”.
He also says Israel is a secular state.
Our first radical Muslim POTUS that Democrats so brilliantly thought would make a great President despite the USA currently being at war with ..uhh...radical Islam, made empowering and spreading radical Islam his first order of biz the second he took office in 2009. And there’s two things that been standing in his way ever since: Conservatives in the USA and Israel he is doing his utmost to destroy both.
I am a member of the tribe and I hope he is the next President. I don’t know if he can save our nation after the extensive damage that Obama has done to it, but he can give it the best shot.
President Cruz will continue to be a supporter of Israel. All of America should support the Zionist cause.
I'm starting to rethink that., but not for the reasons you might think. Personally, I like him a lot where he is. I would really like to see him in the senate with some seniority. Imagine a Walker/Palin or Palin/Walker admin with Cruz in charge of the Senate.
That said, giventhe opportunity, I'd crawl over miles of broken glass to vote for President Cruz.
Senator Cruz has one hell of a resume and he is not easily pigeonholed. He is a conservative that knows how to make his point not just passionately but intellectually. Its nice to have some one who has unquestioned credentials and is a conservative. We are lucky to have a rising star in VA in Dave Brat with a similar profile. The Tea Party is bringing in some of the best and the brightest into government something that will become increasingly apparent.
