Atlanta fire chief suspended over book controversy
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 11/24/14 | Katie Lesley

Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran has been suspended without pay for one month because of authoring a religious book in which he describes homosexuality as a “sexual perversion” akin to bestiality and pederasty.

Mayor Kasim Reed’s spokeswoman Anne Torres said the administration didn’t know about “Who Told You That You Are Naked?” until employees came forward with complaints last week. . . .

Cochran has been ordered to undergo sensitivity training and has been barred from distributing copies of the book on city property after a number of firefighters said they received them in the workplace.

A fireman. Book burning. Where’s Ray Bradbury when you need him?

When do the liberals have to go through “sensitivity training?”

It’s only fair, seeing as who they are the most intolerant aholes on the face of the Earth.

You are correct. This subject reminded me of Sundays sermon, about how Christians have always been hated. It is just now being seen and felt here in America on a large scale. We will fight back with the assurance of our Salvation.

“who” should be “how.”

He didn’t do anything on company time. He used his name and rank as the books author. That would be akin to asking a doctor that authored a medical ethics book about abortion that he couldn’t use his degree. His rank may not be associated with his views but it highlights that he is a working person with a view.

Check out the Mayor of Atlanta and you’ll understand why this happened.

If he'd written A Firefighter's Guide To Islam he'd probably be up for the Medal of Freedom.

It is interesting that the lesbian ex-fire official thinks that someone with the chief’s views shouldn’t even be allowed to work for the fire department. If these folks want another civil war, they are eventually going to get it.

If you are progressive liberal professor, not in the traditional meaning of liberal, it’s publish or perish.

If not it’s publish and pillory.

Only approved dissent is approved, after all.

"Atlanta Demonicrat Mayor Kasim Reed suspends Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran without pay for one month because of authoring a religious book in which he describes homosexuality as a 'sexual perversion' akin to bestiality and pederasty."

Another black-on-black crime... the fifth-column MSM merely yawns.

I’ll bet that the chief didn’t directly compare homosexuality to bestiality (sex with animals). When a Christian points out the sin of having any kind of sex outside of marriage, be it fornication, homosexuality, pedophilia, or bestiality, the gays say, that’s terrible, you’ve just said what I do is like having sex with a horse or sheep! Well,no that’s not what the Christian said.

If this stands, the logical conclusion is that any Christian who owns a Bible and accepts its teachings on sexual morality is - in the eyes of the City of Atlanta - a criminal who forfeits his right to city employment.

Public officials are free to make public statements that support homosexuality. To punish a public official for a contrary view is UNAMERICAN.
