A student at Georgetown University wrote in an op-ed piece that he was 'Not at all' shocked that a recent mugging he suffered at gunpoint took place.
Senior Oliver Friedfeld said in his piece,'I Was Mugged, And I Understand Why,'that he questioned his own ability to criticize his attackers,citing his 'perch of privilege.'

Only a racist could blame “white privilege” or even just the short form “privilege” for this violent crime. As a sensible conservative, I know that the vast majority of black people are better than this. As a law-abiding person who grew up genuinely poor (with far less than we would have had on welfare), I know that the vast majority of poor people are better than this. Whether or not Oliver Friedfeld is a liar who invented this story, he’s a bigot if he actually believes that poor people (or, more likely, poor black people) are incapable of acting morally or of following the law.
I thought they lined the birdcage to catch the Gruber.

Liberals are incapable of making moral distinctions or treating individuals as moral agents. They see everything through the prism of race and politics. We are so screwed as a nation.
In a way I’m kinda glad the riots are happening now. I think a lot of folks are going to be rid of their white guilt before long. And going forward, that’s nothing but good.
We are going to have a huge problem in about 20ish years though, when the hardcore brainwashed of this generation get to politician age. Assuming we make it there intact as a country, which is far from a given.
It is a cycle- same thing happened in 60’s 70’s- and we got Clintons, Gore and his fellow travelling companions, starting in the 90’s.
Maybe something will intervene in this latest cycle, and the next crop will skip a generation- one can alsways hope.

Thats true about the cycle. I know every generation (I’m GenX) says the one following it is gonna kill us all, but the next one has so many in it that have gone so far to the left, one more step and they’ll be at the right of Reagan. There is simply nowhere ‘left’ for them to go.
We have a few Conservative/Right wing Millenials here on fr. My daughter is pretty far right overall so they do exist. But they are in the minority. Most are like birdbrain and will someday be Senator Birdbrain because all the other unique little snowflakes will go for the free pizza party he promises and they can all relive their no-score soccer game kale pizza parties of years past.

It's precisely this kind of excusing criminal behavior for people who were not born into wealth that fuels the problem. Being born into poverty is not destiny--people can and do climb out of poverty all the time. However, teaching them that being born into poverty means that they cannot ever hope to be anything other than a criminal *does* shape their destiny.
This is a topic I know *very* well, having been born into poverty and working my way up to a quite comfortable middle class life style.
Oliver, please submit yourself to a life-time of repeated muggings and rapes to atone for your White privilege.
I get the impression that this whole ‘check your privilege’ business is to keep the majority from fighting back when attacked.

He got jumped. It was a cool mugging - no tissue damage this time for the liberal freshman. I got jumped one time by 3 or 4. They tried to put a beating on me, but they were getting tangled up with each other. No damage. I wasn’t even sore afterwards.
