Mitt Romney: Republicans Should 'Swallow Hard,' Pass 'Permanent' Amnesty Bill
Breitbart ^ | 26 Nov 2014 | Tony Lee

Former Massachusetts Governor and failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney believes Republicans should "swallow hard" and pass a permanent amnesty bill in the wake of President Barack Obama's executive amnesty that even Romney conceded would encourage more illegal immigrants to enter the country.

This seems to be a misleading title...

I don’t see any where that Romney has become a proponent of Amnesty. In this quote his “swallow hard” comment is in reference to Obama’s illegal Amnesty executive order. Does anyone see a reference to ANY “Pass Permanent Amnesty” phrase that the author of the article wrote here? ->>

-—”Maybe even then, Republicans will swallow hard and say, ‘OK, even despite the fact that we now have a stick in our eye launched by the president, we’re going to go ahead and try and see if we can’t make some improvements to the immigration system,’” Romney said. “I hope we’re able to do that.”

He’s always been adamant about securing the border. Can anyone find PROOF via a REAL quote from Romney that he supports AMNESTY?

They think elections are just a race to get what they can - to get first dibs at the pig trough.

Amen, exactly!

Ayn Rand: “In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit.”

A deal with the devil is always a losing proposition. Voting for Republicans like Romney is exactly that.

I live it slightly differently. I’m willing to fight for the things you’re willing to die for. As long as I have horsepower, ammo, and daylight the dying is going to be done by those who screw with my all-of-the-above. I guess Romney’s campaign rhetoric about making life in the US so difficult for illegals that they would “self-deport” was just that - empty campaign rhetoric.

Yeah, McRomney should swallow hard and shut up. Always suspected the guy.

We were RIGHT to seek an anti-Romney that last primary. And those who didn’t vote can gloat now, can’t they?

So we republican loyalists are left looking like suckers.

Gee, thanks, McRomney!

“I’m a conservative that won’t vote for a liberal republican.”

Well I’m certainly left red-faced. I hated gambling on McRomney. What a CREEP! What a LIAR!

But hey, at least I was always in favor of the anti-Romney throughout the primary. And I’d vote against Obama again.

Still, you do deserve a month of gloating. Enjoy.

FRegards ....

Mitt apparently doesn't want to run or wants to be eliminated really early. The man is totally tone-deaf on this one.

I'm not gloating, rest assured. I didn't want either liberal Obama or liberal Romney in there.

What I want is for people that claim to be conservatives to quit voting for liberal republicans for any reason.

And you didn't get what you wanted. Obama won anyway, even though you voted for a liberal. But the GOP-E knows they can count on your vote, regardless of how liberal the candidate they put up.

Liberal Republicans can't win presidential elections.

If your party runs a liberal republican, Hillary! or whoever will win.

Did Comment #2 have something to do with the words “swallow” and “hard”?

That is an interesting idea! Patently unconstitutional, but interesting.

Since I also live Va, I would simply like to have primary elections in which all conservatives can choose the candidate, instead candidates are selected at the party convention.

Give that thing a few days in a very hot sun and it might be useful for keeping a fire going. LOL

And by the way, I just had dinner, didn’t really need to see that!

Well, it looks as though all of those conservatives who didn’t show up to vote for Romney might have had a point.

A lot of those conservatives showed up and voted for a conservative. They didn't vote for Romney.

That will happen in 2016, if the GOP-E decides to run another liberal.
