Citing security fears, Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, who fatally shot Michael Brown Aug. 9, has resigned from the police department.
Wilson, 28, who on Monday was cleared by a grand jury investigating the shooting, had been a member of the city's police department for six years.
Neil Bruntrager, Wilson's attorney, said a news conference is being planned.
Wilson's resignation letter reads:

just fyi, he was married for a little over one single year when he took up with this female cop who is 37 years old. He is an adulterer and sounds like he needs his head examined.
I grew up in the woods in Missouri and a lot of those people, including some relatives, vote Democrat just like their ancestors before them. It is impossible to convince them that it’s not their granddaddy’s Democrat party anymore. It changed and they didn’t and now they can’t understand why the government is trying to take away their guns.
“But all I will say about marijuana, or any substance, is that using something for a high, or a crutch to avoid your issues is counterproductive, and cheating your body’s natural capacity for pleasure and happiness.”
This is an excellent message and one I live by.
It is too lucrative a job; instead they’ll do what police in NJ’s black areas do - write accident reports. We don’t have a lot of shooting like this (though we have some hellish urban areas) because police don’t “interfere”. Here they have shootings when the violence is transferred into a taxpaying area. Just had one a couple of months ago a couple of miles north of me (in Lyndhurst NJ), and not a peep; when black perps try to run down cops, and have a handgun and ski mask in their stolen car, the media knows it will generate more backlash than protest.
