First, anyone resisting arrest has already made a decision that endangers their own life. Everything that happens after that point is on you, including any act performed to subdue you, whether illegal or not. That doesn’t mean others aren’t wrong, but the resistor is nearly always wrong, and was in this case.

Second, it’s impossible to verbally state that you can’t breathe if you’re choking. That’s exactly why people die of choking while surrounded by others. They can’t tell people what’s wrong and have to get their attention in some other way. So, he might have had difficulty breathing (due to a combination of his asthma and the excitement, say), but it wasn’t because of a supposed “chokehold.”

I’ve found that it makes far more sense to let these sensationalist stories play out for as long as a month before paying the least bit of attention to them. The facts that matter are usually suppressed initially, then dribble out and completely reverse the Leftist rants that accompany the original story. Big time saver, and especially true when racism is alleged.

Ahhh.

So you do know for example, simply applying dead weight, or moving one’s arm if grabbed by an officer is resisting right? That authorizes tazing, beating, death, etc? Uh, no.

How about learn the force continuum police are taught.

This is a chokehold. Martial arts classifications for decades suddenly go out the window and words are parsed suddenly by pundits and the peanut crowd. Utterly laughable.

It is possible to talk while being choked depending on the level of tightness of arm around neck, again, affects breathing.

More lack of training by cops, the guy resisted is at fault but plenty of cops to control situation. Combined excessive force and guy’s health.

The man said he couldn’t breathe and now he is dead. Why don’t you explain how he could actually be breathing since you are knowledgeable on that sort of thing. Cops are entitled to use the amount of force needed to subdue a criminal, they are not authorized to be executioners unless absolutely necessary.
